Get a chronicler/recorder/pass-down-the-story guy on board, I'm sure you'll get some awesome stories. 10 hour long stream footage bits don't count. Fooshi.
I remember trying day z last year during summer, when it started getting popular I guess. I'm not normally afraid of dying or learning things the hard way, but when it took me like 12 minutes to spawn in the first time and another 15 to spawn back in after I died my patience died along with it. So basically is this really any better than arma 2 version and is respawn times still ridiculous in the arma verison? I just don't like the idea of not being able to play a game if I make a mistake.
Record / stream, highlight > done. Record, waste space on HDD, edit, encode, upload to shitty YT, be as distant from your fans as you can > done. Twitch master race reporting in.
The time between death and spawning is around a minute given all the facepalming and shock. At least it used to in the mod a couple months ago.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_jsTfrZvK4 This shit right here, is why I love these type of games. Pretending to be a serial killer or a psychopath is the maximum fun I can experience in a game like this.
Well that's different. I remember there being zombies everywhere when I tried the mod. They also kept spawning right next to ones I killed, quite annoying. It is an alpha though so I do wonder what that's gonna be like later. Still this definitely seems like a game where you need like 3-5 friends to play with to get the most out of. I usually just play games by myself most of the time, though. But that is why I have stalker. Oh how I love you stalker. Those big empty buildings reminded me of stalker too.
Hmm yeah, really Alpha. I'll still buy it as soon as I am reasonably confident that it will progress at a decent rate and ultimately, be seen through to completion. I was kind of disappointed with ARMA 3 over this. Sold me the Alpha and then made a 500K competition to make a mission? instead of spending 500K on doing one themselves? Wut.
I still don't get why they charge people for the alpha. Isn't the whole idea of alpha to have people test the game? Charging people to test your game is pretty dumb. I understand what Minecraft did, it was 5 bucks or so for alpha, and 30 bucks for finished product. At least 5 bucks is reasonable, and players are rewarded by saving 25 bucks off the final game for participating in the testing. But charging full price for a fricken test case? Unless... 30 bucks is the alpha price and the finished version will be 50... fuck this in the ass so much.
ARMA has always been all about the community, ever back since Operation Flashpoint in 2001. There's a reason why ARMA 3 was marketed as a "military sandbox". As for the contest, it's not just a campaign. It's got several categories from total overhauls (i.e., probably an entirely new mod) to tony addons like custom weapons.
Thirty Fucking Dollars. Are you fucking kidding me? It's nothing. If you have a job and you're not a meth addict, you should be able to pay for it on minimum wage. Go whine with all the others on the DayZ community forum. omg gief rebate cuzs i bought armas 2 a yers ago even tho i put like 400 hour sin to it i dont want 2 pay 30 bux cus im a little shite
