    not exactly on topic but, I caught a guy not looking today when I was in a light tank, shot him twice with the cannon (and hit directly in the back) and he walked away, from two cannon shots...

    that made me say wtf

    and I had several mortars go through the ground, or so it seemed, no explosion. way more than would do that in 2.12

    Standard cannon does 40 dmg, just like 2.12.

    I think having the ROF being insanely fast like in 2.12 makes the feel for the guns a lot better. It feels like a pea shooter even though the bullets are insanely strong.

    While the ranged rifle has a higher damage per bullet, the NF HR and the BE Carbine project their damage further with the way the falloff works. Try it out ;)

    The SMGs are fine.

    The rifleman weapons are screwed up. With BE, Just can't seem to kill things as you should with the carbine. I'm thinking "3 shot burst to head, guy dead, 3 shot burst to other guy, he dead." But, instead its more like "one clip into guy, i'm dead."

    Fail. Weapons need fixing most. Although, it is fun shooting people who are hiding behind turrets, that don't protect them anymore.

    Ok, but anyone else see a potential flaw in this design... because currently it seems, ranged rifle = high damage, short ranged rifle, with a scope just for those extra close up shots. Surely i cant be the only one seeing something wrong here... :confused:

    Im against 2.2 in general.
    I hate what is being done tot he infantry weapons. It makes taking cover absolutely pointless.

    Vehicles now have horrible handling and fps lag, making a huge tank battle impossible.

    But now we have another extreme.

    2v1 under any circumstances. Pistols vs rifleman who has element of surprise.

    1 loses. Always.

    Now I dunno about you mayama, but I'd prefer to play an FPS, not be a statistic.

    Pointless cover? now i know why you were bitching about the weapons, you just didnt used the cover, waaay to go..

    And theres a diffrence between "get used to " and "use the same guns with shittier mechanics"

    also , skake, lulz

    And what about the handbrake? I mean , very good that there is such thing, but FOR GOD'S SAKE this isnt need for speed's Drift! You should be able to USE the vehicles without using handbrke all the time! Guess why, that ruins fun.

    It's out for what, a few hours.
    I had to play several days before i got the old infantry weapon settings out of my system and got used to the new ones. Empires is several years old, this means it'll take a while untill people playing for all this time can adjust to big changes like this.

    You have to start playing differently. Untill you do, your opinions are only worth a very tiny bit.

    For the experienced empires players, give it a week at least.

    its just no fun anymore. I was roffleman for few hours and had 4:1 KD. BUT IT WAS NO FUN AT ALL.NO FUN.

    And smg's are fucked up totally. smg1 got accuracy of 2.12 smg2 and 2.2 smg2 got accuracy of HMG during jump.

    You know that you should not compare weapons of 2.12 and 2.2 cause
    they act totaly different?
    You know that the major goal of the 2.2 weapon settings was that you
    are not able to go rambo and kill everything alone?

    I can't say I like them.

    The trouble with empires is that it is very long ranged, so you need to make the weapons long ranged as well, and even the best of the current set simply aren't when compared to the old set.

    The carbine and HR are less good than the ARs of old, so I find myself just pouring rounds downrange, missing two thirds of the time, and winning by attrition.

    If you want to have shorter range combat you need a lot more cover in the game so players can get close to each other.

    Also the damage falloff is silly, because you have no idea of how effective your shots are.

    Get used to them, seriously.
    We had alot testing with them so we (like me) are already used to them.
    Dont try to use the weapons like you used them in 2.12
    You can use the BE Carbine and the NF HR as sniper rifles if you practice a bit with them.
    The NF HR is almost a sniper rifle, in my opinion, now.
