And that is where you went wrong. Before complaining about something and suggesting ways to fix it, do your research. You need to understand the subject of your suggestion to its entirety if you're going to effectively argue improvements.
So... either double the amount of hull hp and/or give it more max weight. OR Make it smaller. And that´s what I already tried.
The height isn't really the problem, it's that the minimum turret pitch is too high, allowing LT's to ram the AFV, and unload into it, while the AFV cannot hit the LT.
I just love this one: ''he cant even carry a good armor, and that whitout weapons. only 2 weapons, and they suck'' I really wonder how the Light Tank can own then... And I agree with Lollum, give it extra max weight, don't make it smaller! But maybe someone could give it or the APC a new model?
''he cant even carry a good armor, and that whitout weapons. if he carry a good armor whit full plates, he can not wear more then 1 weapon, making it useless. "only 2 weapons, and they suck'' its called weight. it make that you can only use 2 weapons whit armor and 1 slot weapons sucks anyway..
Wow im a genious this pic i posted on page 1 LOOK AT THE SIGN! it says 1973 uk-BE!! see BE= Bredoni Empire there we have it. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/9f/FV101_Scorpion_Megapixie.jpg
If you're allowed to lower the cannon on the thing about 5 degrees down more in the front, it can hit most. Give it an extra 20 weight to work with, I see it balanced.
It's already got 15 degrees downangle, the most of any vehicle. (In a sense. It shares that angle with the APCs and the NF medium tank.) That said, I wouldn't mind 5 more degrees downangle on all the tanks. It's frustrating as hell being unable to hit a turret in an LT because of a slight angle in the terrain. It's even worse in the NF heavy, which also has a high turret. The BE medium and heavy tanks haven't been as much of a problem for me, probably because of their low profiles, but it wouldn't hurt them.
I still haven't seen any good rebuttals for my idea, darktimes has pretty much trolled this, but let's try and get back ontopic. Also, thank god there's more tank angles TY dizzyone :D
How about, as a genral option, an abnormally heavy engine (50 wt?) that lets all vehicles go through water safely? Perhaps not an option on meds/heavies?
In water-heavy maps, the AFV would be imba. =P They could attack from sides the NF couldn't retaliate, and retreat to areas the NF couldn't follow. On the other hand, the maps aren't designed for that sort of thing... You'd probably see lots of AFVs getting stuck in steep underwater ditches. Also, why would the AFV chassis work in water, but not the APC chassis?
Because the AFV has all that extra space instead of 4 people, they put in underwater engines and sections for air to add to it's buoyancy, the APC is for land,t he AFV is for all round. They can't retreat ANYWHERE and they can CERTAINLY be killed just as easily as now, it's just they're more mobile.
No, the APC and AFV share very similar roles. Both can be quite effective against everything (research permitting), the APC just has the bonus of a spawn point and a shitty hull, and internal automated ammo/health crates (that don't murder people :D)
Yeah, obviously making an APC amphibious is BAD, so why not the AFV? It really is the shittiest vehicle in the game, and so long as meds and heavies aren't amphibious, it'll all work out ok, I highly doubt the BE will send a raiding party of 6 AFVs against an enemy base lategame, for obvious reasons, the AFV is [supposedly] for use as a light tank, but the devs probably didn't test it enough or made a typo on it somewhere, and it's ended up really bad, as it is, it won't be able to rape an entire base from behind, especially if NF drop turrets, it would be used as a transport more than a tank, or even a pretty lil gunboat..
The thing is, giving only one team an amphibious tank could seriously unbalance certain maps (maybe not even any of the maps we have now, but we've gotta think about the future, too.) And as noted, the existing maps aren't designed for this... you couldn't just take a tank and drive it around underwater, even if the water doesn't directly hurt it. I'd personally like to see some sort of amphibious/water-based things in for maps that support them, but we really ought to wait until aircraft are done before really discussing it...
