No I'm not british, I just have a british flag as my avatar and lied in my signature. Canadians are also not british, they are canadian.
TBH I really think about 95% complaints about comms are justified. Pay attention, and most people don't complain. Sure there are sometimes a few dickheads that bitch and whine about stuff no matter what or don't like your research but if the whole team is complaining chances are ITS YOU!!!
Zippy tops in command style, always hates his team and manage them with a steel fist and organise big tank rushes.
My apologies. and if you dump the CV, I'll just ask for you to be banlolden. Really, I guess it just depends on the accent. If you were just talking, I could listen to you, but angry english accented people just make me laugh.
Being relatively friendly works too, you just have to do it right. Generally, if people aren't listening too much, I just remind them that it's not me playing the whole game, and if they just want to mess around, i'm cool with that, as long as they're having fun. Usually at that point, a few people on my team want to extend the match by actually doing a few things I suggest. Similarly, if the enemy is getting really close and no one's spawning back at main to take care of them, I just tell them that I really need help and the game will end (in our loss) in roughly and then give how much time they have - 30s or less usually. The good thing about having a mic too, is that they can't say "I didn't hear nothin'". But in the main, most of the time it's me apologising for getting ninja'd like a spastic. If the game is really hellish and no one's paying attention at all, though, eventually I just do some basic research, build a vf and then say "enjoy".
fuck you i never mentioned any kind of tenure, just bitching when a shit teams blames everything on comm
In my experience, people bitch at commanders way too much. If he's an idiot, vote kick the sorry bastard out and get in yourself. Otherwise shut your cunt mouth. Comming is the most ludicrously difficult aspect of empires, and the absolute most important. Your team can be the best in the world. But if your commander is an idiot and doesn't research well, you're boned. Because of that, most of anyone who has any semblance of commanding, well, they really fucking refuse to do it. You get tired of a team of people who doesn't build your refineries, who don't build barracks, who don't destroy enemy barracks or refineries. People who incessantly bitch when you tell them the plan from the get go, and then you can't accomplish it. It's rarely just the comm, or just the players. Usually it's a shit mix of a few players who aren't willing to listen or work together. Players who build 150 resource jeeps, instead of 65 resource turbine or 3 phase jeeps as engineers to go hunting. In the end you just got stuck on Nachos at the wrong time of day, I comm there every now and again when it's like 6-9vs6-9 because I'm the only one willing to do it, and in most cases the only one who has any clue how to do it (To date, I've only won one match as commander out of five =/)
