Ok then, we won't ask you. :p I see at least one full server any time of day, with several others with three or four players each. I really don't think it has anything to do with the state of the game. Look at Source Forts: buggy and unpolished with stale gameplay, and yet there are a lot more people playing it than Empires. People just don't know about this mod. Had it been featured on Steam like SF we'd have many more emp_recruits than we'd know what to do with.
I think the size of the player base is fine for this stage of the mod. Once it's out of beta and aircraft and other things are in, publicity can really start. Then the players will come.
yeah, we don't want to advertise until the game is "finished", so not to put any potential players off.
i've never heard rowing called that in the olympics - it was always call the appropriate thing, e.g. men's eights, women's cosless four, quad sculls etc etc. or is it some freakish sport put in with fifteen different subtypes (that one person can win all of like swimming)?
But is any game really "done" these days? After 7 major releases and several smaller patches, Empires is very playable in its current state. Aircraft will be the icing on the cake, but the PR machine should start rolling regardless.
Well, i cant play (Bob *the real bob.... the A-TEAM BOB! THERE ARE NO OTHER BOBS EXCEPT FALSE ONES! IAM THE REAL BOB!!!*) Cause, my laptop got destroyed, so i gotta wait a bit, then get a new one, but i'll join back in a month or two...
It was agreed countless of time that the PR machine should be left in its cage hungry untill atleast the Aircraft come out beacuse how many games have "ZOMG TEH BOOM TANK" And "How do I fire this tank?"
Alot of people have real lives unfortunately so we all can't be on every single day. In my case I've been too busy to really do much lately.
Real lives? Pshaw! I have an essay to write, three programs to churn out, five books of the Illiad to read, and an undetermined amount of drawing that's due this coming week, and you don't see me not procrastinating by spending time on the forums!
I stopped playing because of balance issues. When BE riflemen can't kill me from across the map with 2 rounds of their rifle or when every game isn't just a race to HE/Nuke artillery tanks, I'll come back.
Thank god. Anyways, the BSID stat tracking states that there have been 198 unique players on the BSID server alone. Plenty of people, methinks
