http://www.empiresmod.com/peacekeeper/peacekeeper.zip If the link in the OP told you it couldn't find it, it didn't like a capital P for the filename. This link works for sure. Yup, it's easy to overlook those things, but they are damn important. Thankfully, I had plenty of sounds and music available to steal from Empires and Smashball. :D I was about to have an aneurysm at the very end trying to get the weapons to fit into the models' hands. Skinning and skeletal animations definitely gave Duke and me the most trouble in this project. If we hadn't had problems with those, we would have had time to put more polish into the game. Bono was supposed to be a character in the game that you had to get killed.
Really? I made it easier than it used to be, and Pope Homeless said it was much easier. I was worried I made it too easy. No to WP7, but the whole reason I got started with XNA was to make an XBox game to sell it and get $$$.
Well, my point being MS is aiming at cross platform games...XNA being managed allows that to some degree, as long as you manage your visual resources per screen size correctly, the code work is minimal. WP7 is unproven and all, but if you're aiming to sell and already are using XNA, WP7 will handle everything fine (it certainly has the CPU power behind it to.) http://www.engadget.com/2010/07/14/microsoft-comes-clean-on-doling-out-cash-free-hardware-to-entic/

Yeah, one person. Its average scores have been all 3s which is behind a lot of the simpler 2d games. I guess some people just don't get it.
I guess it loses on replayability. You can only play it so many times until you get bored of it. Some very simplistic 2D games can be very addictive and they'll score highly on that. If it was a competition on making the most technically superior game in a month, you might have higher scores.
Yeah, I definitely agree with you. The original plan was to make an arcade like version which would be replayable and based purely on score. I think I will try to make that game mode and release it. It sucks that we only get average scores on graphics when a lot more was put into all of the 3d buildings and animations for the characters. Compare that to the games which have just sprites and no animations whatsoever.
Installed the XNA redist, but it crashes on launch. Windows 7 x64 Home Premium. The only thing I can find from Google on how to fix that crash is to reinstall XNA and reboot your computer. Maybe even try uninstalling XNA and reinstalling. Also, see if installing this helps: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=AB99342F-5D1A-413D-8319-81DA479AB0D7
Well I have the same OS, so that's not the cause. Try running other XNA games, and see if they crash too.
