If you need to submit it for that deadline the best way you could improve it would be to make the script funnier from the outset - at first it is difficult to tell whether it is a comedy or just a really really really shitty plot The competition look worse though.... except for this team: http://labtanner.com/gamedev/index.php?title=Team_yes_you_can,_I_am_doing_it Whoever made this is a genius!
No experience with that, I doubt that I would be helpful. Are you planning to make the characters drop shadows? It looks very weird without. Can you make civilians and hostiles more distinguishable?
There's no time for shadows. I wanted them too. I'm just going to finish off the dialog now. The characters now hold guns.
Download is updated! This is the final build. I'm not touching it anymore. There's now sound and the dialog is finished.
Whoops, I changed the URL. Get it from the OP or here: http://www.empiresmod.com/peacekeeper/peacekeeper.zip
"the requested url is not found on this server" looks like I can't try it. pfft he changed it the moment I wanted it?
I'm currently in a competition to make a game for a 1000 dollar prize. We're making a shmup. I'm on sprites, although I did help with bullet coding a little bit (my teammate couldn't figure out how to add bullet info to a table and update their positions etc) It's been quite enjoyable so far, deadline is 4 days. We gotta leg it. (we also have background music which is awesome.)
Well it's alot easier this time. I did find a really easy way to finish the objective where you have to get the militia to shoot civilians, just stand behind a fence & lob cheeseburgers & rocks over the fence. :p
Updated version is much better - funny how much difference music/soundfx and some improved animations can make to the overall experience.
