I agree. You weren't using threaded queries? Using non threaded queries is eh... very, very, very bad practice... The reason we never, ever, EVER use non threaded queries is because the game thread will block until the query completes (read lag spike).
I'm aware of this, but when everything is on a localhost as powerful as we have it took no noticable hit so I didn't bother. Again that's the reason I now am converting it. Keep in mind that if blocking queries were never to be used, they wouldn't be in SM today. They do have a purpose, although I'm not claiming this was one of them.

IMO they are a legacy feature. Even if you were using a local SQLite DB, I wouldn't recommend using them (since they will block the game thread, even if it's only for a microsecond).
Sir Snipes isn't a bad modeller. It's just when he makes a gun for example, you'd think a blind person described it to him. The quality of the model isn't bad, just the design. Hence we laugh.
if sir-snipes would practise more on predesigned/proper concept art provided samples he would get a far better result sorry sir-snipes, but to me it seems designing isnt your thing, making it on the other hand...
I've yet to have heard a polly count or seen anything ingame. Slapping together primitives != modeling.
