There is a long tradition of Asia videogame characters wielding swords twice their body weight, but this little beauty on the left surly wins:
Reminds me of my paper overly-long-sword. I think it's like 3 or 4 feet long, made entirely of paper, tape, and a cross of clothes hanger wire (internal support), and the blade is folded over and over so it won't even give you a paper cut, if you can even manage to do it with this floppy sword, which I have tacked to my bedroom wall.
The large swords from asia come from Asian culture, adopted from medieval west European culture (a big influence for Asia until today, from metal crafting think how a katana is made, to armors bought from western kingdoms by Chinese warlords) basically it came down to "the bigger your sword" the bigger your status, and fighting skill, but this was more a ritual practice, with swords up to 3 meters in length just to be suspended on a wall and only held once a year or so for a ceremony. we would call this "overcompensating" nowadays ps: why didnt anyone notice the snake on the white girls head??? whats up with that???
Traditionally, large swords came from Scotland, home of the Beserkers. they used claymore swords, absolutly fucking massive heavy swords. Once they started swinging them, if they stopped, they would not be able to start again. They literally moved around in combat by throwing the weight of the sword where they wanted to go because they could not afford to stop.
Give me a spear over a sword any day I see. Too bad the most overused weapon in games ever is the sword.
if a swordsman hits the spear to fling it sideways... they can rush up and cut u down.... spears are usefull while in big groups =/
Well the spear has length on his side, I'd like to see that swordsman even get near an experienced spearman Also Zeke is correct HAHA YOU'RE FUCKED NOW
=S a spearman fail vs a swordsman in 1on1..... that long pole of urs is only usefull if the target is infront of ya past the tip of the spear... any type of fast cutting sword can parry it and then the user run up closer (which renders ur insane 2.5 meter spear utterely useless since the target is too close to strike it) i wont bring in shields into the discussion... since they would downright own the spear...
I think it depends on the situation, if that spearman can keep the swordsman at range, he has a good chance of hitting him while staying completely safe. But yeah in a one on one and with evenly skilled fighters the spearman will prolly have a hard time lol
if your first attacks misses, the swordsman grabs the spear and pwns you in the face. @topic: if seen much bigger swords. i think its a beat'em up on ps ... one char has a ridicolously big sword, but cant find a pic atm.
Well, I have a real fake sword. With Authentic Battle Damage! I hit people with mine. Making a paper sword and hanging it on your wall is slightly eccentric I must say. No disrespect.
