Storyline Question

So, I was on the Empires wiki, poring over story details, when I came across this map of the empires world: http://wiki.empiresmod.com/index.php/Image:Territory_map.jpg

Well, despite the fact that Jekotian is misspelled, (:p) one thing caught my eye. South Islands? They seem to be a seperate political entity, but there's no reference to them ingame. So anyone with a lot of knowledge about the backstory (DonMegel), who are they, and how do they fit into the plot? Are they the Switzerland of the Empires world, or what?

 

I think someone asked if there was another faction, but the devs said no

It's a shame to see all those bodies of water go to waste.

 

Chekotian used to be their name before I changed it. I thought it sounded too native american and Jekotian sounds more like eastern europe.

The names of the cities are Ronan, Glycen, Kolntus, Emin (both near the border of the two countries), Bren (capitol of Brenodian Empire), Bain Island, and some others I can't remember. The larger scale map is around somewhere.

The Southern Continent has aways been neutral and dosent boast a military. No one has taken over this land due to its lack of natural res and the close ties both nations have with them economicaly. There are many schools, industries and technology centers there that deal with the highest bidder, selling tech and supplies to both empires.

 

It's where the Empires dev team is at, hence why we aren't dead :p.

 

Sounds like fun, but wouldn't BE want to take over the South Islands if they're supporting NF? They're fun-killers like that, you know.

 

why devote military resources better spent on attacking the NF?

 

Ain't nobody better f*ck with Clawtopia else they get a foot up their ass.

 

Would you shoot the guy who hands you ammo? And any way with NF its probalby discreate and under the table by a few merchants. And why make your self another enemie? And having a neutral party party make your tools is usefull as they dont have to worry about having there factoris bombed. Think Switzerland durring WW2.

that depends on the scale of the map... i mean, the whole island might only have one city, it's so damn tiny. If that's the case, HELL no you can't be mayor! I'm mayor!

If it has more then one city, though, I'll make a proposal to the national legislator that nominates you for city executor. It should go through, seeing as I constitute the sole member of the executive branch, and I rule the legislative branch with an iron fist.

And don't mess with us; we have old Jekotian weapons stockpiles, and we're CRAZY.

I must warn you that Broccolistan generally doesn't take part in military action, preferring instead to merely abide at the very top of the map, and gaze down upon the rest of the world with an air of superiority.
