Our Steam server is working 99% of the time. You should check your firewall (for instance disable it).
Steam content server is down for now. Rename steam.cfg to steam.tmp or you won't be able to log into Steam.
Deleting Appupdatestats.blob + clientregistry.blob and adding the steam.cfg file did the job for me, that said, I guess there's no fix if you can't connect to the server, but thx to mootant it works all fine now, ... windows firewall... -.-' I'm kinda sure i turned that crap off before, too, though.
