Yep fixed on my end too. I checked about E-build and all that jazz and it seems to be back to 2.25 defaults....but I won't go into that on this thread.
Not starting at all, it's stuck at "Preparing to launch Empires...". EDIT: Oh wait, it just took like forever to start up.
I'm just waiting on someone to edit the first post with the one I did. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1034763/Development or PC screenshots/steam.cfg
Explain why it's so hard to make people do things then? @Topic. I guess I could dl this and do some testing some time soon.
The empires tester version does seem to take forever to launch though...... Do we really want morons in the tester session? Having to make a config file will act as an intelligence filter and stop morons from joining in.
Stupidity has taken ahold of me... I am getting a steam network error whenever I try to launch steam. Oddly enough this happens only after I downloaded the ZIP. After I delete it, I can go to steam normally.
When this happens it usually means that Steam content servers that we (Trickster/EPIC) host is down and you should change steam.cfg's name to for instance steam.tmp until we fix it. The problem has been already fixed. When I said account name I meant account name you type into steam when logging. Not the name that you have in Steam community or anything like it.
EDIT: Fixed. Can't get it to run. When i launch Empires it just loads a 20MB HL2.exe process and then nothing happens. I got the new steam.cfg.
It might conflict if you still have the very old gcf. Either do what w00kie said with the game cache and/or if that doesnt work delete the empires gcf and let it download again.
