No no no, that's now what I mean. Scripts could still be released for use, but, maybe some form of encryption which allows server owners to keep the scripts to themselves if they develop them. What you said Demented wouldn't make a difference if they were encrypted or not. I just would prefer it to be up to the scripters/server owners what happens to the scripts, and let smaller servers have a chance to compete with the bigger ones by putting work into scripts, rather than just making good ones to compete, then the big server just puts the small server scripts on.

Why? It would just be easier and use less bandwidth to download everything at once instead of having to do it all over again every time you re-enter the server. Sure you could download encrypted files once and have the game decrypt them, but that would be a dick move on the developers imo :p. To do what you're asking would possibly take a lot of work which is unneeded in the grand scheme of things, and given enough time, someone would be able to figure out what's in it anyways. And this is the age of the internet. If you make ANYTHING which is digital or could be transferred to digital, expect it to be stolen I don't see how you care about the smaller servers when you have root admin in the G4TC network. copyrights are stupid anyway - the mod would profit more from an open approach ... if it doesnt interfere with valves licensing, make sure that the scripts are under some copylefted license, please - thanks. oh and if every server should use your scripts trickster, you should be proud, not jealous ...
Copyleft aint such a good idea, CC-BY-NC-SA would be good or any license with share alike that is good for documents.

GPL is copyleft -- if people use your work licensed under a copyleft license, they must license it under the same license (or compatible)
Random but would it would it be possible to have the server load different scripts based on what maps it being played? That would help balancing a lot since now you can balance district separate from canyon.
