    I have no idea what uit, if you mean UTC then no, BST=UTC+1. If you are confused just use google to find a converter.

    BST is used because UK is in the middle and timezones are offset based on that. US is 5-8 behind, Europe is 1-2 ahead. Nice and simple. US guys get it, Europeans get it. It's like English, people only speak it because we're utterly incapable of learning their language.
