Are we actually doing this? I don't know if my upload could handle doing a live stream along with all the audio and shit? Then we gotta do the delay and stuff? Maybe we should just cast it then upload to youtube after? I dunno what program to use to record. I don't think my comp will be able to handle recording super high quality but we could do like 480p or something?
I dont think we need to livestream it, like 5 ppl would watch, at most lol but I know I cant record, my comp's not a happy camper lately
Iono wtf program to use. I'm not fucking buying fraps and I dunno if it will even run. I guess I could lower my resolution if I'm just going to be posting it in 480p anyways... Is there a program that will capture only one window so I can run it in windowed mode at lower res?
really only 1 person needs to record while the others are just commentating. maybe use source-tv or something so we can just have like a bunch load of specs without using server slots.
3 people recording ingame. Commentate in a recorded teamspeak. Have video editor cut it up and pick the best of the 3 shots (specs should aim to cover different parts at once). ????? Profit.
Sounds good to me Trickster. I'd suggest the engine's recording tools because they're cheap (performance wise), but they aren't great for recording long videos, as noted on the the Wiki here and here.
OK so I can just record demos and an audio file. Splicing them all together might be a bit difficult and I definitely don't have the time to do so unless someone wants to volunteer to do it I think it would be a 1 camera situation.
I'm pretty sure I'll be fine with the demo thing I've done it before on my comp that was quite a bit worse. I just need to figure out a TS and audio recording solution then a way to combine the audio with the demo.
if you are going to have trouble with audio/video syncing, you can say something like "the scrim has begun!" as soon as the comm vote reaches 0
Yeah that wouldn't be too hard but if I was splicing 3 different video sources together with 1 stream it would just be too much work. I literally have almost no free time right now. I'll do it but not if its going to take a lot of work I havn't done anything like this before. Dunno if maybe jephir you want to get in on this?
If the game is more than 15 minutes, rendering the demo will take fucking years if you record it in source.
When Disposable combined our TS with the demoplayback, he found they didn't sync, and he had to add silent patches.
