The problem is that a spawn every 10 seconds is as problematic as people camping the vf. Its almost completly random who buys the vehicle when their are enough resources to buy a tank. So a timed spawn would cause frustraition (spawn stealer asf).
But then it would be a feasible tactic to field multiple APCs even in lategame, if you really want/need mobile forward spawns. 1 APC in this case will work, but will be painfully slow. So either you limit the spawns by decreasing the number of seats or give it a respawn timer. Less seats also means less transport and supply capabilities theoretically. The limit will be obvious once the APC is full and you cannot respawn if many spawn at the same time. The timer on the other hand sounds like a good compromise. Maybe change the research to remove the timer on the APC and make it cheaper, but give the APCs the possibility to act as limited spawns from the get-go with a 10 second spawn delay.
The only thing I dislike about APCs is that they are effectively a barracks on wheels and almost as strong once armor is teched. Oh and they give ammo and health. I'd love to see them with spawns from the beginning but something needs to be done about the "OH HAI I CAN HAVE MY WHOLE TEAM SPAWN IN UR BASE LOL!!!!"
random suggestions: -You cant spawn in an apc for X seconds if it is/was under fire. -Every APC has X spawn slots and everytime someone spawns it removes one, those spawns slowly regenerate over time. -You can only spawn in an apc that stands still -You can only spawn in an apc that stands still and it needs to deploy for it so it cant quickly drive away. -Theirs a extra module that you need to put into your APC if you want that people can spawn in it. This module is very heavy so you cant put much armor or guns on the vehicle.
I suggested that a long time ago, I still think it's a good idea. Deploying should also increase damage resistance considerably for the APC.
the deploying APC would need animations and visual indicators for the driver (aka a bar) and concerning the increasing cost thing. most of the suggestions (i know some of mine too) are overly complicated. if we scale it with % it should only be one value (not like, rax scale +50%, turrets +20%, armory +12,8%, reppad +42.85123%, ...) while many suggestions are ambitious i think putting rax back to 200 would be the easiest solution. and, if you really have to, maybe make all buildings scaleing by a certain percent value.
I already consider apcs to be mostly useless to the average empires team, I doubt nerfing them would improve the situation much.
i purposely choose not to research them, especially on ticket starved maps. on top of that it's another 60 seconds away from decent tanks, tanks which determine more games than apc spawn ever has.
