Whenever I play HMG on either team, I find myself hilariously pushed some 10-20 feet from where I was prone, removing me from the action. Other times, I push the enemy back into -cover-. This is frustrating. This pushback from bullets is awfully powerful. It's especially funny when the weapons are pea shooters. Please reduce it in further installments. It is so frustrating when you can't kill enemies, but you can shoot them as if this was a game of pinball.
I can understand the push while standing, maybe a little bit while crouched, but there should be no push while prone, its just silly. "In reality" small arms fire doesn't make you go flying, coupled with the fact that your laying down on the ground create significant amounts of friction, there is no movement involved.
It's more funny when I'm prone on a short wall or whatever and I can't get back on top because of stamina! Prone pushback should be pretty small.
was this on glycen city? one of the ways that map is unique is that there is very little friction on the snow.
didnt notice that as a negative thing, but now as u mention it ... its hilarious ... and not really realistic.
i once had that i was laying prone on top of a rax, and when i got shot i flew off the rax off the building that the rax was built on, and fell to my death i lold so hard that people thought i was hurt and crying
I read the code that determines the bullet force and it doesn't depend on target's stance. I'll change it to be lower when target is prone.
Well it seems that it reacts the same way with all possible phys_pushscale values. It probably won't get fixed in 2.2.1.
The push feature in empires is definately a good idea. But I think it's a bit OTT. But, mootant is fixing it so there's no prob. Nice idea with the stance affecting the amount of push force.
I always thought of it as a quick reflex you would have if you were getting shot at, like shooting a guy on some wall and he drops down behind it like "oh shit". The other day I was trying to crawl into a mortar hole on canyon, and someone was shooting me and kept pushing me out.
Real bullet impacts are like getting insanely lightly pushed (1 or 2 pounds of force tops), so yeah, getting pushed that far with a small weapon is more than ridiculous.
