Oh c'mon, it's perfect that way! More red and you would end up with cartoon colors, just like that cartoony blue color that is used now.
The whole point was that having two copies of every vtf takes up a lot more space than having two versions of the vmt. The download is already pretty hefty, so anything that saves on files sizes is good. Bodrick seemed to know how to do this, so I guess we'll just wait for him to get back.
I looked at an article on the valve wiki, and this proxy seems to be useful for this: Code: $color Modulation color (R,G,B) (1,1,1) = white, (0,0,0) = black From Here.
Doesn't work. I tried all kinds of variations on that. Also, Krenzo said that he didn't want it anyway.
Ok I have had several times where I had to look at my weapon to remember my team and I seem to mainly remember it by where I am and where im going on the maps. I got confused on isle once where we switched bases. Now today my brother walks in and ask what team im on and I once again remembered this. I never really got an answer why not to do this.
Yer having it hard to know what team your on? If you play on teamwork, you shouldn't have a problem seeing who shoots you and who doesn't.
Me mayama and hack user were working on an all new interface untill We were told by the devs that thier making an all new interface of thier own.
well yea, we would need a new interface with aircraft. the current ones minimap placement would totally screw you over when it comes to looking up at aircraft, and it would need to be tested to ensure it works well
Rex. I have a few tips. Check the minimap, do you see red or blue arrows there? Check your weapon, as you do. Check your character's hands. Is he wearing black glows or not. Aim on people, do you see a name or not? If you don't see a name, shoot him, he's an enemy. Press tab and see in which team you are. Press class selection menu and see what kind of class you have and what kind of weapons that class has. Black weapons are BE's. I think those are the things which you can quickly check without much trouble. Or just remember which team you join when the game starts and remember what kind of weapons the class had when you chose it. But... Maybe the new interface would be ok too but I prefer this more or less calm blue.
..... im not retarded. Its not like I wander around for 10 mins shooting at my own people. Some things just looks the same and I use mortar most of the time and there is not a whole lot of difference between them with the huge green aiming thing. It is just a few times for a very short time, where I start to take cover seeing my own tank and so on after playing 3+ hours of the same team. I remember several other people mentioned this earlier in this thread. Knight Templar told earlier how he emptied his chaingun on a team mate. Red would be intuitive and logic for NF. Most of the interfaces seem to be BE in theme. Main menu, all ingame menus and well also this forum. But I guess this doesnt matter if a new one is being made.
It has less to do with now knowing which team you are on, but more with an overall look and feel of the game. Distinct HUD (simple color palete swap or overall style) would add to the visual appeal. A gimmick, eye candy, low on priority, etc. But if the devs are working on a new HUD anyway (allegedly), why not give it a thought?
I think we should just wait how the new gui would look like and then we can talk about its useablility.
Ancient one awaken from your slumber! Couldn't help myself after remembering and finding such a nostalgic thread I just love how it ends with I think we should just wait even with multiple sides offering to work on it.
