    murder

    osama never had a trial, so he is considered innocent untill proven guilty

    admitting the crime just asks for an investigation, it does not "prove" you are guilty

    Osama Bin Laden was supposedly shooting back and using a woman as a human shield. The soldiers had to kill him in self-defense!

    irrelevant, i read he was ordered to be killed by barrack and the wording from his speech confirms that action

    "ordered to kill" not to capture, kill... the intent to kill was there long before osama held that specific ak47 and women, one might claim in self defence

    idiots made a martyr out of him in stead of letting him make a fool of himself in some rotten prison

    sure, i dont blame the squad that took him down for taking the kill, he was holding guns etc with high probability... but i blame the president for "ordering a kill" and getting rid of the body

    and thus, sealing his fate forever as a martyr

    The president has very little control over operatives suchs as DEVGRU. The president shorta just pointed the finger in a general direction. I wouldn't be surprised if his role was much less, because foreign policy and military was never a campaigning point for Obama.

    Blizzy, the context of the quote was that Obama did not want to do an airstrike on the compound. It would have risked killing civilians and not being able to identify his body afterward. This is pretty clear from any of the articles about the planning and executing of this operation.

    when the government doesn't need to spend money on healthcare, proper public education systems and public transportation there is billions left for military and invading small countries :/

    EDIT: forgot public retirement funds, welfare and unemployment benefits.

    EDITEDIT: and non profit societies like Scoutgroups and brass bands ands and volunteer fire brigades...

    Yeah but that's sort of a small reference pool.

    You're saying 'it's ok to kill grantrithor because a few people on a forum hate him' compared to 'it's ok to kill osama because an appreciable fraction of humanity hate him'.

    You're scaling down the reference pool but not the action, the correct method would be to scale both down, so it becomes 'it's ok to ban grantrithor because people on the forum hate him' which IS standard practice.

    i doubt that most people outside the "civilized world" like george w. called it have much of a clue who osame bin laden even was. there was a recent survey in afghanistan and the vast majority (id rather not say numbers since i cant remember) didnt even know whats so special about 9/11 or why those jerks in khaki are in their country playing rock songs while they shoot at ppl ...
