Anyways. Take a look at the attachment to see why your spider drone model won't work. See the areas I have circled? Now take a look at your video. In your video, your drone makes impossible twists in that region in order to move.

How to do it, I just haven't done it yet. Try making something that isn't supposed to look like a random mess of crap, try modelling a normal human.
... (removed by dizzyone) And about that spider bot... Let me make a pic for those who can't use imagination to patch up the holes in the view what they can't see. I thought it works something like that. The first joints on the legs are connected to cylinders which go inside the chassis and those are being rotated thus the whole leg rotates sideways. True it could be that the legs aren't connected to the body at all but that's easy to fix with this method. ... (removed by dizzyone)
I've removed a few posts, this forum is here for everyone to discuss and give c&c in a polite manner. Also, if you're unsure why your post was removed, you may pm me about it.
I said that sir snipes should look after the triangles in his z-brush model cause from what I see they are a bit fucked up. You stamped the skin? right? Its to hard make it softer, it will not look good rendered as it is now.
it was my second time in zbrush, still not sure how it works w/e im gona stick with my robots and the models for 40k:t.i.o.w

i think he only gets the light appearance from the reflections of the sky, i was going for a gorilla style brawler, while the blue guys nimble with guns
You don't see that in the picture nor do you see it actually being used in the animation. What you see in the animation is the hinges slanting. Of course, you could remake the model to actually do that, but then there's also the question of how movement is transmitted. If you don't know mechanics, or can't be bothered to learn them, and if you don't want to be criticized for it, just cover it up. Simple, lazy, and if someone asks you about it you can say "Use your imagination". Otherwise you can very well go on ignoring people who nitpick like me.
Yeh, you can't see those parts in the animation but I imaginated that they would be so small that those supports/connectors go behind the actual axle cylinders. Anyway, about the question how those would be slanted I was thinking some simple gear mechanism or hydraulic inside the body of that thing so you don't really have to model it, just say that it works something like that. Edit: Ah here's a good example of how your walker should move: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Plpea2UxKk Notice that the up and down movement is very small where as your mech bounces a lot up and down. The point is to move legs up and down and not the body of the mech. Anyway, I hope you can make your model better with this info.
