Wait a sec, what if this means that Hobbes really is me/devourawr/paradox, and that he always wins because even if he gets trapped as NF comm the BE comm wins which is him. This changes everything! What if Dawgas = Hobbes, have you ever seen them in the same game together? Yes you have, and Dawgas has never used voice chat so it has to be Hobbes. It all makes sense now.
Hobbes AKA Marx, played COM both sides again tonight. I watched from spec and although some were saying that is unfair he can't do each team fairly. It sure looked like he was doing one hell of a job on both sides. If he never told us he was playing two sides - no one would have questioned his ability to play TWO com's at one time. Gotta give him Kudo's for that. Oh and from my perspective - HE LOST ! We were joking that he couldn't lose, but Hobbes lost and Marx won It'd be interesting to hear how his team mates judge the match. From spec - NF team failed to build the buildings and refs he dropped, BE did build and BE won. BE also was more aggressive pushing.
JustGoFly, don't speak about what you didn't see. You left early to go cry to Vicki about Hobbes commanding two teams. While BE was able to get into our base, we could have crushed them at any moment, and managed to when I drove a medium into their main and squad revived to kill the CV. If you weren't asking Vicki to give Hobbes a warning, you would have seen NF win(Hobbes) and BE(Marx) lose. Still love you though.

I did see, and I surely have never gone to Vicki. I never asked Vicki to give Hobbes a warning and as a matter of fact Steve and I both told her that although it seems impossible, he is being fair to both sides. At one point we said "See NF will win - he's turning it around", but then he dropped middle due to Big G being in middle. What Hobbes told us afterwards is that he was just reacting to each teams requests. After normal opening game strategy, he would react to requests and was trying to keep track of each research path. Vicki did come into Spec since someone told her shit was happening and I "think" it was due to the previous map where Trickster was screwing with Steve. It was all in good fun although I don't know if Steve was appreciating that he was being turned on by his own team and that Trickster kept trying to nine mine steve. When Vicki came in we were discussing Hobbes playing both sides, since I did see MARX both nights and told them - It has to be Hobbes. Vicki was thinking "No one can do both sides justice he must be giving one side an advantage". NO ONE CAN COMM TWO SIDES. I told her - "Just watch" he's doing Both Sides equally well. He dropped forward Rax's, he would drop the refs, but from my SPEC view NF spent more time pushing than building. NF got to heavies first, but surely didn't have the funds. NF repelled BE's early ninja Rax. If Hobbes had not told us he was also Marx, we would have never known. One guy in Spec was saying "No way - it can't be it's his kid being the other COM". I said - His kid could not do it as well as is being done - just watch. Then NF vehicle started moving while the other side kept dropping buildings. I was quite amazed. At first we were talking about Hobbes aggressive tactics before Vicki arrived and before we realized he was COMing both sides. NF surely could have won if they had the resources. Big D made the turn in the game when he switched to Engie and built up middle refs and rax. That was the end, NF mostly was stuck in their base after that. Your attempts to push out were good, but you had no Engie support which starved your attempts to fight back. PS: As I said when I got banned two days ago, I NEVER WENT TO VICKI. I don't do that shit since it's petty. I'll come right upto your face and tell you what I think of you - but I don't stab you in the back. You get it in the face. But since someone obviously went to Vicki or she detected I was banned for fun, I have now been given admin rights to Viper. BooYaaa ! Had I wanted to warn Hobbes, I could have done it publicly in everyones face myself. I didn't need Vicki to come in. Steve could have too. I could have moved Marx to same team as Hobbes and that would have royally screwed both teams. When did Vicki become the baby sitter of Empires ? She had to leave a tournament she was playing in on another game to come over and calm people. She is trying to be fair to everyone, and if she warned Hobbes it has no penalty. After we chatted there would surely have been no consequence. Heck I sure wish someone recorded Spec - and you'd see that your perspective of me is incorrect. Lots of people were in spec - let's hear from them. HOBBES - Your name should be CHAOS. I know that someone already took that name - but it is fitting. The Hobbes/Marx match was very exciting and from Spec we could see that everyone was fighting hard and it could have gone either way, so Kudos for doing the improbable. I don't think you have yet picked up the fact that NF WON THE ROUND. Sure, BE had animalscar, and Craig picked up like two kills at mid, but if we had been playing serious the entire game, it would have been gg at 5 minutes. We decided to play serious once our only rax and VF had been destroyed and we had two players alive, and then we won.
I was wondering why Vicki was complaining about the 'mess they made on VIPER' the other night. I didn't understand what kind of mess you could get into, but now I see. Now I know why she wasn't happy. Kind of wish I had been in the game to see it :D Hopefully I will be on tonight so I can get myself and/or vehicles stuck in random places.
Ya that match was for the record books, I hope someone recorded it. You should have heard the debate in Spec. But your cred went up significantly, regardless of what warning you might have initially received. Guys were literally screaming "He can't possibly be fair to both sides". Then "Just WATCH - He is !". You are still the most controversial player in Empires. I'm sure the guys who have played for five years love that they are not playing the long normal match. I still prefer conventional match's. The Hobbes match is made for Vets, and newbs are just confused by the over the top aggressive push. I certainly think you have the right to lead your team anyway you like. So go get em. It's questionable whether COMing two teams should be allowed. Right you are - I did think BE won. Way to pull out a win. I did not to imply NF was playing badly, only that Engie's were not doing as well on NF. It was a great match. I just hope Marx didn't sit still for the kill, otherwise it could be considered griefing, especially if Hobbes was busy on BE doing something. See this is why it's so controversial. Funniest park of the Match was a text message in the game: Hobbes: Hobbes is Marx: Greatest COM Hobbes: every ! Nothing like signing your name to the art.
Dual HE biodiesel tanks are made without bio weapons exactly for that reason: safer reduces risk of not dealing max dps during heated phase new players can't determine when is the best time to use bio but the tanks with bio that you seem to like are actually better. in a less puggish match, where you would expect players to take full advantage of their vehicles, you would give them more sophisticated weapons. in a pub match, however, you want to Keep It Simple Stupid and make sure your weapons work. As a commander, you want to make sure that a lot of effort has to be put into making them ineffective.
FN - I certainly agree with your mindset and recommendations. For example - not having to scale between the Barracks and VF, as you said during the game, is not necessary. Sure placing the rax in front of the VF keeps opponent from driving into the VF, but I prefer putting a wall and obstacles to keep that from occuring. Slowing players from getting into vehicles IMHO is not right, so I do agree with many of the things you say. And I will take your word for controversial things. I just wonder if Coolant, Dual HE and UML or Bio would have put us ahead on that match. I do love BIO - but we mostly are head to head fighting. This would have been my preference for heavies. I also think four UGL APC's can wipe out any opponent, especially if they have a fast engine and driver is smart enough to keep moving. Even if they all fail - they cost the opponent team at least one building and time to rebuild. While you mount up four more and push again at relatively low cost. Three shots from Four APC's will take down any building (12 total). Place your shots between buildings and get two for price of one. PS: I look forward to more matches on your team FN.
You just need some USB foot switches and a freetrack device. the foot switches can replace mouse buttons, the head tracker replaces the mouse movement or wasd keys. I was able to play arma 2 with just my feet and some head movement, keyboard and mouse are just optional once your setup is working. that way you gain extra hands for smoking/eating/fapping. (eating sucks, when your head movement correlates with your tank movement) Good cheap foot switches Freetrack Project <-- You can build the tracking device from nearly any old shitty webcam + some wire and LEDs.
