I think something like this is actually a decent idea, and I despise the way so many people misunderstand it, or outright flame it in silly ways.
i do like the idea... if a sniper-rifle-less scout is the only one with access to them, and if they cant be accesed in early game. i mean arnt scout suposed to have abilities others dont in order to account for their lack of combat skills?

First, nice try at pinning your rep on Sheepe. Second, I applaud everyone for understanding what I'm saying about how this can work. Shinzon, if you read what I originally posted, the JUMPjets have a long recharge time. You would maybe make it onto a building, but then you would be stuck there, and easy game for a scout/rifleman/engy. Then, if you survived long enough, you would either have to jump off, or fall from the building disapearing. The only building that you could jump on that would stop people from being able to shoot you is the VF (NF Barracks may be tall, but would still leave you open). If the JUMPJet is made available as a buy from AF, which makes perfect sense, this would not be possible. Thankyou for agreeing that this could work :D People are starting to see how this could work in game, and that there really isn't any negatives if it's done right.
if half life 1 mod can have jet packs.. then source mod can surely support jet packs as well!! it would make fighting tanks as infantry slightly better (aside from chaingun and 50 cal), but at least less vulnerable to HE cannons and UML and etc.

It's more like, mortar,,, jump , activate jetpack, reload, if you have nuff time drop mine or fire rpg, when you land shoot mortar and then repeat
or just jet around and get mid air disc and shit, you might even cap a shrike someone tried to suicide or get into the tail gunner of an enemy bomber and shocklance it.
