Last time I frequently visited cw forums was like 3 years ago, and even then people called him an oldfag.
The night was unusually silent. Nobody moved from their quarters. The ship rocked slowly over gentle seas. Ikalx double checked his clips. He was down to one and a half clips worth of rounds, barely enough. He sighed and holstered his pistol, and made his way to the galley as dawn broke over the deep blue sea. Mcgyver hadn't slept, he'd been watching his door all night, pistol steady. As sunlight peered through his cabins porthole, he decided to make his way to the regular meeting place. Hygrom's mind wandered. He was confident in what was to come. He'd worked it out, there was no need for stress. The less he thought about the tasks ahead the smoother they became as he executed them. He reached for his kevlar vest, riddled with holes, and slowly lowered it over his head. Armor donned, he made his way to the galley, before the rest. He'd try and get it over with as early as possible. McGyver sat at one end of the galley, pistol in hand, watching the main doorway, he heard footsteps approaching and cocked his pistol. Ikalx strode in. "Good morning McGyver." he stated, as he raised his pistol and fired off two rounds, one tore through McGyvers left shoulder and the second through the right of his chest. McGyver slumped, and his pistol dropped to the floor. Ikalx heard the familiar sound of boot on steel, he spun to find himself staring at the butt of a rifle, painful streaks of red strew themselves across his vision, he fell backwards onto the cold steel floor. As his vision began to clear he saw nothing but black. A point of light erupted in the center of his vision and grew exponentially, his vision was quickly filled with bright light, his mind cleared and the last thing that passed through it was high quality Brenodi steel. Ikalx was dead. A rumbling shuddered through the ship, waking up all those brave enough to sleep and ushering them to the deck. Hygrom arrived first, carrying a body over his shoulders. He waved down the helicopter. "He needs medical attention, as soon as possible!" he yelled. Two ropes dropped down from the helicopter and a pair of armored men rappelled downwards, submachine guns pointed at Hygrom. "Put him down and raise your hands." one barked at him. Hygrom followed the instructions swiftly. "I have a pistol, it's on my left leg." he stated calmly. The second soldier patted him down and removed the pistol. "He's clear." The helicopter made it's landing shortly after, and took off with McGyver aboard, the rest of the crew made it to the deck as the helipter began it's ascent. "They'll be back with crew for us, and an escort in 2 hours." Hygrom explained to the tired and confused crew. "You've had quite the last few days, haven't you?" the Lieutenant growled. "You were found with contraband weapons on a high priority mission, there's extreme evidence pointing towards you murdering fellow Brenodi soldiers in cold blood, heavy damage to the imperial flagship and a disregard for the safety of fellow crew members." he continued. "However, you've shown exceptional bravery, saved at least two lives and saved the Singularity from falling into enemy hands or being outright destroyed. I respect your courses of action, whether the higher ups do or not. But here's the situation: You're being removed from active duty indefinitely. They've deemed you too unstable for the safety of fellow troops, you'll go under psychological review and that will decide whether you're re-admitted, not my call in the end but it's for the best. You've been granted the Cyclopean cross for your efforts, there'll be a short ceremony for it tomorrow, 10:00, sharp. And before you're dismissed here, you can ask me 3 questions. I'll be happy to answer as best I can." the lieutenant leaned back in his chair and folded his arms. "Did McGyver make it?" "He's still in critical condition, shot passed right through his lung but the doctor's say he's likely to pull through, no word on any potential brain damage but the doctors say he should pull through, he was only out for 2 minutes before he was revived so side effects should be minimal." "Hmm, how did the infiltrators get aboard?" "Kane and LordDz were both relatively new recruits, they seem to just be agents sent in somewhat en masse to hopefully hit upon some useful information by luck. Trickster's financial history showed significant evidence of some kind of bribery, and we've found several leads from him. Ikalx is a mystery though. He's a veteran of the original conflict and I find it disturbing that he would wait until now to turncoat. There's some potential ties between him, Brutos and several others that lead back to the Commonwealth isles in the south, but they're entirely neutral to our conflict, and extremely reclusive, apart from the materials they trade with us we have little information on their infrastructure or stake in either side of the war. The investigation is still ongoing but seems to have dried up for now on Ikalx." "I understand, I guess. What are my chances of being reassigned active duty?" "Very unlikely, with the general forces. But there might be work for you yet in counter-espionage, your first hand experiences with faction sabotage technique could prove useful, if it comes up you'll be contacted. First I united with Trickster for a few hours before he died. Then I teamed with Brutos and wealthy, but they died the same night. From that point I talked with Kane until he proved an infiltrator. No grudges Hygrom and guys If Ikalx followed my diplomatic attempts and voted Spratacus that fateful night the infils may have won. Shame on me. Round 2?
Round 2 is in the planning phase in my mind. I'll let you all know when I'm ready to take signups. Feedback is highly appreciated though. Role ideas are good too, but keep them simply (more than 4 sentences of explanation is usually too complicated or contrived.)
I called 3 of 4. Can't help not to feel good about it. Can't wait to see the clues. I guess that the "the administration" that catched my eye was tricksters, and I just fell for the easy explanation. Can't believe that the "we were friends" was actualy a clue. wtf. It was a good game, but most of the times past day 2 the topic was somewhat dead. I'd say the night and day times were too long, but I see how hard it is to balance considering the demographic. It is somewhat weird that roles actually came into play. Exceot for the unlucky predom, that is. Also, gj for hygrom who somehow avoided dieing twice. Damn. That and he killed 3 of the infils. Nice brake from the triggerhappy vigilantes from the past rounds.
We had low inactivity but inactivity was in critical players so the game was a bit weird at some points. First few days should have been WAY faster paced but brutos didn't kill anyone, hygrom was afk and infils only had one kill so instead of 3 kills on day one/night one we had 1 kill which really made the opening a bit weird.
Also, crew only won because of dumb. 1)dumb luck with the rifle fiasco. 2)dumb infiltrators that did nothing to kill the crew agitators. They didnt even bother to try to lynch them. What the hell guys? Killing Gran of all people, lol.
They were trying to snipe the medic. They assumed he'd stay quiet to avoid getting pinpointed, they didn't expect him to be highly vocal and push bandwagons
I still think that is somewhat dumb. Killing a medic to kill a riflemen is at least a 2 day plan. Thats like half of the game. You can't think small like that. What was with the 4:20 hint? Or were you just trying to sneak crap past the radar?

Um I think I was tired because I had work from 12-4am and I derped and instead of 4:14 (which is the actual ratio) I was like "there's 20 people derp it's 4:20 derrr".
Everybody finally died and I finally got to kill McGuyver off. Man, i've wanted to for ages. But apologies to everybody else playin', since this past month i'd just been too fricken tired to barely play. Foolishly thought i'd be a base crew again, since i'd only had one role once, and that was as last time's infil :p -where we caned. Because we actually had a plan...and vulkanis on the base crew, can't forget the service he did.
Zoom you were actually first on my target list since the beginning but somehow every single time there had been ... circumstances ... saving you (Grant was pointing out trickster as infil durrr )

feedback: far too many things you say can be taken up as a hint so next time you write a story make it straightforward and anything not straightforward should be ahint. This time I was pretty lucky with the familiar voice, friends, etc etc etc but yeah.
