    Welcome to Infiltration

Infiltration is a cloak and dagger forum game in the vein of mafia, werewolves and a few other similar games (vampires etc)

It has my own twist + the empires storyline entertwined to try and make it a more fun empires community experience.

    The Basics:
You are a brenodi infantryman working in a forward base, for whatever reason, outside communication is cut, and you find your commander dead, traitors from the northern faction are among you. Perhaps even you are a traitor, sent to annihilate some vital brenodi equipment or base. Whatever the case, there are traitors among the lambs and only one faction is coming out on top.

The game has several classes which will be detailed below. But for now we'll focus on how the game progresses.
Game has two states, day and night, each 24 hour period of real life, we switch between the two (to allow all people to participate regardless of timezone) during the day, everyone votes on one person to be lynched.
During the night, everyone goes to sleep except for the special classes (which we'll go into more detail on), they PM me a target and their classes ability is used on that target, the infiltrators will PM me a target as a group, and their target will be slain that night. At daybreak, everyone is informed of the nights murders via a small section of story that I will write, this story can be important as I will attempt (notoriously badly) to hide clues within the text relating to who has what role. Clues can relate to many things, notable things that person has done in empires, their avatar their name, what their personality is like etc. During the story segments, when a player is killed, their name will be posted in bold and in the color affiliated with their class. E.g. Empty took several rounds to the chest and went down, his assailant fled the scene. indicates that the player Empty died, and his class was a rifleman, each class has a color and you can check that in the class section below.

    Objectives:
The goal of the innocent players is to lynch the infiltrators, and the infiltrators objective is to reach a point where they outnumber the innocents. Special classes have their own goals which I'll talk about during the classes section.

    Classes:

    Rifleman
The rifleman is essentially a vigilante, he is the opposite of the infiltrators and each night he may murder someone too. He doesn't have to use this ability, and it's up to his judgement on how to utilise it and who to kill. He uses his ability by PMing me a target each night.

    Engineer
The engineer is the medic of the team, each night he can save a person from dying (but not from a lynching during the day!) he utilises this ability by PMing me a target each night. If someone is targeted twice (e.g. by a rifleman and an infiltrator) the engineer saves him from the first hit, but the second hit will take out the player.

    Scout
The scout is the eyes and ears of the team, he can investigate one person a night and gain vital intel on that player, I'll tell the scout the players class and possibly some other info if I deem it necessary. The scout utilises his ability by PMing me at night, and at daybreak if the scout survived the night I'll PM him the info about his target.

    Infiltrator
The infiltrators are the antagonists of the story. They begin the round aware of eachother and it's their job to take out all the other innocent players. They win when their numbers are equal or greater than the remaining innocents. Each night, the infiltrators PM me a target, for now they only get one kill per night (this is an experiment and may change in subsequent rounds), with this nerf in killing power the infils are going to have a harder time than in previous infiltration so they're going to have to manipulate people a lot better to get a foothold. If I get conflicted targets from infiltrators I will choose from their targets, which may not be in their best interests. INFILS SHOULD WORK TOGETHER.

    Commander
The commander is being put in round one. He is not randomly assigned like other classes, instead on the FIRST day of gameplay, he is voted in. Once the vote completes, the commander chooses a player to lynch on day one. Thereafter, the commanders lynch vote is worth 3 times as much as a regular player. This gives him a LOT of sway so CHOOSE YOUR COMMANDER WITH CARE.

    Base Crew
Everyone who doesn't receive a class is a base crew, they can only vote and utilise their brains to win the game. It's not a glorious role but nor is it a useless one, at the very least a smart base crew can distract the infils and get himself killed over an important class. At best he can decipher clues, throw spanners into infils works by claiming he is class X or Y. or whatever. If you're a base crew don't give up, creativity, subterfuge and bullshitting will be your tools and you have less to lose than the other classes!

    Further Notes on Classes
i'll be using Random.org to choose class distribution, there will be NO favouritism, anyone can be any class so don't come into the game with any preconceptions about anyones role. I will have a wave of PMs when classes are chosen, and they will contain details on your class, how to use it etc.

Anyone may reveal their class at any time, HOWEVER they MAY NOT POST ANY PMS BETWEEN ME AND THEM AT ANY POINT DURING THE ROUND.

This is to prevent people copypasting their PM in an attempt to make it seem legit, although PMs can be faked, it's best if I simply DISALLOW THIS. PERIOD. Anyone can say they are any class, they can tell the truth, lie or tell half truths. Just keep in mind someone might not be lying!

This rule applies to the thread, and ALSO to outside chat, obviously I can't monitor you but if you obey the rules the game is more fun.

When class PMs have finished being distributed I will make a post in this thread stating they are done. IF YOU HAVE NOT RECEIVED A PM BY THAT POINT YOU ARE BASE CREW. I'd recommend clearing your PM boxes out a little if they're full, if I can't contact you via PM I'll probably give your class to someone else!

That's all for the rules post! I'll add more details if they come up, ANY RULING I MAKE IS FINAL, and if you break the rules you will be removed from the game, and possibly the next round.

    Debriefing:

    Day One

Empty stepped out of the bridge and onto the waklway around it, the bitter cold cut into his skin but he endured it, he was a man of solitude

A side note here, this was an accidental clue towards kane, relating to citizen kane, and I apologise to kane for this, I shouldhave watched the movie before writing clues up on him and I probably could have avoided this accident.

His assailant pulled back the rifle and brought the stock back for another swing at Empty's temples.
The rifle was chosen as it's tricksters weapon of choice (This clue can relate to a lot of people obviously but it was mainly to narrow peoples searches down)

Empty ducked under the swing and reached for his sidearm.
The weapon had served him well, an incredibly old design dating from the first well. It had saved him more times than he cared to remember. He brought it to bear upon his opponent, and stared down the sights.
Normally he'd fire without hesitation, old reflexes die hard. But what he saw down the sights shook him more than anything in his 30 years of service.

This line was to clue in that the infiltrator and myself are evenly matched, I'd say trickster and I are roughly around the same skill level so I wanted the fight to seem close.

"I was never on your side Empty, but you've known me this long. How could you not see I'd been pulling the strings the whole time?"

Trickster is well known for playing the long game. Hence this.

3 shots rang out. Empty slumped onto the catwalk, dead. His assailant limped back into the bridge.
This line relates to trickster firing two rounds, and me firing one back. Again indicating we're well matched, I hit him and he hits me, hence the limp.

From here, Brutos won the vote and became the team leader. He did a surprising amount of good, preventing both sides from bandwagoning was an interesting tactic and though it helped trickster more than others it wasn't entirely a loss, I'd say both teams had the same net gain in the end.

    Night One

Who would have the balls to take Empty on? He clearly hadn't been shot in cold blood, he'd had a chance to fight back... Who'd be stupid enough, or ballsy enough to do that?
Another clue towards trickster, he's ballsy and we're evenly matched blah blah.

The jekotian pulled the trigger and the last thing to run through Grantrithor's mind was a 45. calibre hollow point round, which promptly embedded itself in the steel floor of his cabin.
Red herring, made to confuse yall.

Hygrom was AFK this night, so yeah there was only one kill. Predominance checked out blizzerd from memory but didn't gain anything useful. The infils tactics were to abuse brutos from here.

    Day Two

Later that day the engines went dead, highly damaged all over by welding torches, most of it was unsalvageable, given a few days solid work they could be repaired somewhat but Brutos was loathe to leave a man alone in the engine room. The engine rooms were to be left untouched until the traitors were found.
This is a subtle clue towards Ikalx, probably too subtle. I was going to push the welding torch a bit more but the infils didn't end up having enough time left to do it. Ikalx uses a dragon avatar 90% of the time (exception is the emp forum) so I tried to hint at that via the blowtorch, being used to burn his enemies. I think it wasn't a strong enough clue in the end and nobody picked up on it, sadly.

    Night Two

    Trickster addressed his conspirators.
When your name is the first name dropped in a night's story post, it's never a good sign.

"He's fucking invincible!" screamed one infiltrator.
Minor clue towards hygrom, hygrom's avatar is a dreadnaught and they are heavy walkers that are basically invincible to small arms fire.

Hygrom hit trickster, trickster hit hygrom and mcgyver saved hygrom, resulting in a net loss for the infils. A lucky play by mcgyver in all honesty.

    Day Three

The crew interestingly utterly stall the vote, nobody takes the leap of faith.

    Night Three

"I suppose. At the end of this I'm just kind of disappointed that you're a part of it, friend." came the shadowed figures weary reply.

This is a hint that brutos knows an infiltrator, CW ties etc are pretty heavily implied.

"There's nothing for it. You know as well as I do those ties are behind us. You chose your path. I chose mine. I just didn't tell you."
This however is meant to point at Ikalx. Ikalx was the de facto leader of CW for a while and he basically disbanded it (in that it's basically just brutos blizzerd and Ikalx now, I'd say I'm sort of still in but CW basically doesn't exist as a unified entity any more) and we all went our seperate ways.

Brutos was killed as only trickster had ties with him, so losing trickster meant no infil would be able to sway him to their side safely.

    Day Four

Kane sneaks a double kill, I left him out of the writing to slightly imply he was working from the back.

    Night Four

"Hmm that's funny, because I could have sworn you've been watching me all day. Mighty suspicious."
I was hoping predom was in contact with someone and telling them his targets. His teammate would be able to tell that his killer was the guy he was scouting that night. I wasn't sure if such a person existed so I threw this in just in case.

"Oh really?" the figure pulled out a small handheld blowtorch.
"Let's find out what you know..." he continued, as he lit the torch.

    Ikalx clue! Dragons and such!

PreDominance's body was found that morning, tied to the top of the bridge tower. His face was charred beyond recognition and it was clear he hadn't died quickly.
Dragons live up in tall mountains and shit and like towers are in mythology a lot, just a really really really vague clue towards ikalx.

    Day Five

Kane dies honorably to clues that didn't technically exist. Sorry bro.

    Night Five

DDD is slain by rifleman, infils forget to send in targets and pretty much lose the match here.

    Day Six

At this point there were no more clues, Hygrom had already figured out Ikalx was an infil and LordDz was lynched during the dya, I simply let the 24 hours run by for night to give the infils a chance for one last hurrah and they did get the medic in the end.

    Night Six

Hygrom kills ikalx and ikalx gets McGyver. GG all, base crew win.

    Day One

The HMS Singularity was on her maiden voyage, a top of the line carrier, she featured the most cutting edge technology Bren had created yet. The initial voyage was a short one, definitely not her "official" maiden voyage, she was to move from the Glycen port to the capital's port for official ceremonies and her initial mission. With the battle for naval surpemacy reaching it's climax, all available escort ships were too busy to escort her from port to port, a small risk but one the higher-ups had deemed necessary, either the Singularity would be in slight danger for a few days over open sea as she traveled between ports, or she'd be stranded in Glycen for at least 2 months, by which time the Jekotian forces could have taken several key strategic locations and nullified the advantages of the new carrier. It was deemed necessary to move her in secrecy, her construction was top secret anyway, and the officials deemed it secure enough to travel with a skeleton crew of veterans and trusted agents. Admiral Empty, a veteran of the original Jekotian/Brenodi struggle was charged with captaining the flagship as she snuck between ports. The administration thought their plan foolproof, there was no way Faction intelligence was good enough to find out about the Singularity, and definitely no way for them to find her location and take action.

    They were wrong.

Empty stepped out of the bridge and onto the waklway around it, the bitter cold cut into his skin but he endured it, he was a man of solitude, and he was well aware it would take quite the emergency for anyone to follow him out here into this weather. The wind whipped salt spray across the ships deck, at this time of night there'd be nobody on deck, it would almost be suicide, the winds and the slick metal would take the unwary or unsafe and toss them into the roil. You wouldn't even hear a scream over the howling winds.
Empty reached for a cigarette, but decided against it. It would be impossible to light in this weather anyway. He stared out into the sea, but with the murky darkness of the night it was hard enoguh to see the whole length of the carriers deck, especially since Singularity was running dark. No lights were to be visible at night, command had taken a risk with this plan but they weren't stupid. Besides running dark, the ship had been stripped of all radios and communication devices, while the ship would be out of contact, accidental radio transmissions wouldn't give away her position.

Empty leaned against the rails, thinking more about the plan. It was far too risky for his liking but it wasn't his call in the end. He let out a brief sigh and gave in to his previous urge. He reached for his lighter and pulled out a cigarette. The flickers of the flint lit up his face as he struggled to get a flame. The wind kicked up and snatched the cigarette from his mouth. He swore as it flew off the side of the bridge tower.

The bridge door slammed behind him.
He could have sworn he's shut it behind him, there was no way he'd left it open. He turned towards the doorway and his vision filled with white flashes of pain.

His assailant pulled back the rifle and brought the stock back for another swing at Empty's temples.
"Wh-" he was interrupted by the butt of the rifle striking him in the shoulder. He staggered onto one knee and looked up.
"Why? We've known eachother so long, how could you?"
"I was never on your side Empty, but you've known me this long. How could you not see I'd been pulling the strings the whole time?"
3 shots rang out. Empty slumped onto the catwalk, dead. His assailant limped back into the bridge.

The body was found the next morning, the first shot had gone through his upper torso and the second one through his head.

"No way this was an accident." remarked Brutos.
"Agreed, this is bad, Empty wouldn't go down without a fight." Blizzerd replied.
"We're going to have to gather the crew and sort this shit out." Brutos stated coldly.

The PA system ordered the men to an emergency meeting in the mess hall. Everyone assembled and the news was broken. The first course of action was to elect a new leader. And so the debate began...

Don't think we are voting who to lynch yet so don't worry. It would be hilarious if we killed you and you turned out to be the scout or rifle.

Since I'm convinced everyone will be fine and the traitors quickly found and punished, I'll spend the night in the kitchen preparing a breakfast treat to cheer people up. If you need me, you know where I am.

You can communicate to whoever you want however you want but if you have a class PM you cannot copypaste or screenshot it as evidence.

Same with every randomly defined class.
You all have a little more control.

Besides you can vote to lynch the commander himself he's not immune.

Three votes isn't that much this early in the game tbh. Maybe later when we have less players but he might not survive that long unless he is an infiltrator or just dumb(which I doubt considering the point of the vote is to choose someone competent)

So, 4 infils and a teamkiller?
This is going to end fast if rng hates our guts.
I'd go for the com, but I'd rather not die until at least day 3 this time.
    I guess Brutos it is.
Also, I though cloud was going to play? Who are we supposed to kill on the first day then, dammit?
I wonder how will empty screw with us this time, his statement about this game being rather plain is somewhat suspicious.

How do you even play this game? I'm kind of a noob at this thing. What's a rifleman supposed to do? Do I get to switch to a different class later in the game?

This is even better than Predators "How do i know if im a infil".

Also, apparently cloud wasnt always the first to die. Vulkanis got owned by a nicely controlled bandwagon at least once.
