someone linked to the ModDB review of Empires, and I must say, they are partially correct. The weapons need names. Pistol 1, SMG 1, etc, is boring. we need names for each weapon. only one I can think of right now is for the NF standard pistol. according to the wiki its "Raven Arms 9mm Pistol." why not just call it the raven and use that ingame?
another thing i forgot about was that it would be nice to see weapon stats in the infos box when you choose a weapon.
Does anyone think that using DM-xx for so many weapons could be confusing/annoying/anything else that's bad?
i dont mean a system like that. i mean unique naming like in halo and Gears of War. goW examples: RPG = BoomShot, sniper rifle = LongShot, pistol = Snubb, magnum = Vulcan, assault rifle = Lancer, burst fire rifle = HammerBurst, the turret is called a Troika just a bunch of unique, non boring, non uniform, names
i nominate the nf smg2 to be named after slitheraziki and the motawr after me :D haha nah names arnt really needed..
as much as i like referencing people from the community, I never thought about names similar to the ones KillX suggested. I think newbies would be able to relate to names like those easier. One of the weapons is named "Grizzly," and I think that one can stay like that. (Bear, anyway) But stuff like that- catchy stuff.
I agree that nice short names, so you can say "i killed him with the grizzly" and such, instead of "I killed him with the MP23q23 LUTCUSEA'£'Q$" so. lets discuss names! Jackshot Pantherpuss Deathkiller ok i'm rubbish at this.
think of names that suit the weapons, or at least have some relation to the wiki names, the real names. I think the NF Buckshot pistol should be the "Grizzly" because after getting shot in the face twice, you would look like you were mauled. The NF standard pistol should be the Raven because ravens are linked to death in some cultures, and that pistol looks fucking deadly.
The point is to add names that help players get into the story, and to make them feel like they're in the Empires universe. Most of them have nicknames or are easy to remember already. (L3 is sooooooooooo much longer than "pantherpuss" ) I know some of them are plain and need a better nickname, and that's why I asked about the DM series earlier. And why must we call the pistol the Raven, the Raven is already the name of the weapons company, and an NF blimb, why don't we just call everything the Raven, except the CV, which we can call the Edgar Allen Poemobile.
the GHM grape head motwar hahah or the DRPG dizzyrocketpropelledgangster for the nf smg 2... it could be called HDMG for hair dryer machine gun
hey, don't diss panther puss. that's the name i'm gunna give my panther when i get one. anyway, panther puss is so much more memorisable than L3- letters and numbers are instantly forgetable and boring, while names can stick forever... sten gun, thompson, grease gun... these are the names of WW2 guns i can remember. not the K98 or whatever the number was for the german weapons.
