I'm going to nerf the HMG.

    Get used to the idea.

    Problems I want to address so far:

    artillery strangeness
    retarded CV health
    vehicle handling
    plasma cannon
    machine pistol

    This thread is inspired mainly by server owners approaching me already (!) about releasing a script patch to servers to fix some of the big issues that have already cropped up.

    Can you give some details, what you are going to change?
    Especially what do you mean with vehicle handling and plasma cannon?

    And HMG is fine. Don't balance Empires for maps without commander.


    But definitely I would wait some weeks before changing anything.

    You're going to make the HMG kind of pointless. However, HMG camping was getting a bit ridiculous, so you'll get no argument from me.

    its fine on commander maps now the major problem is that
    you are almost invulnerable during the lay down to prone animation

    HMG needs a bigger spread, and some sort of cooldown (because it does NOT reload enough).

    Also, pickled, please tell me your jeep scripts are going back up.

    And this, pickled just because you dont like hmgs on district you should not fuck the balancing up, ...
    or else nerf the mortar too, its pretty much OP on district too, ... oh, not you say? you like it? cool .../rant
    not to mention shotty pistol, or melee uprade ...

    btw HMG got already slightly nerfed from 2.24 to 2.25, don't base your script on 2.24

    /campain: Save the HMGs ... gonna call greenpeace on that, you'll see ...:mad:

    All of the sudden im against a script manifest, or any accustomable weapon scripts, ...

    rant:
    It came excactly like i already mentioned in IRC, weapons like sniper, hmg, etc will get nerfed because ppl in charge of scripts dont like them, mortar will get if then buffed, I like the mortar don't understand me wrong, I use it too, successfully, but compared it's at least as good as a rifleman weapon but still antitank ...

    I think he should nerf the HMG, its one thing to have the HMG be good on district, its another to make it the only usable gun on district. i miss being able to kill things with BEHR.

    HMG balance

    if you must balance the HMG then increase the reloading time on it and when someone has it and they reload add a sound like someone yelling reloading, this would give anyone a chance to charge at the person with the HMG and defeat them. easy in theory i know but it might work better then decreasing the clip size or the accuracy.

    Pickled, can you make the jeep car bombs work with the current release? or the idea was scrapped when the script manifest died?

    In general I would prefer to have no changed server side scripts any more.
    This confuses most players. And sharing the same scripts to all servers and also make it easy visible, that server is running with changed scripts hasn't worked really good.
    Development team should concentrate to release official balance only versions more often.
