Already done the nostalgia thing ages ago. The ending in FEAR 2 sucked. Already played red faction and thats quite old. Also its just another monorail shooter. They can be entertaining, but I rarely get any good immersion out of it when im forced to only go in that one direction and do stupid tasks to get there. I guess I just miss "sandbox" games like morrowind/boiling point/Gothic and so on. Where I actually feel like I have just a little bit of a choice in what to do. I cant stand the wast majority of MMO hack and slash with their infinite meddling balance/nerfing and annoying pace. I do think I will try the new diablo. I didnt even bother with red alert 3 and I have played every other C&C game ever made. But this is just stupid, reminds you of little children playing with action men in a playground, with all the retarded powers and shit. Also I have hated the Xbox ever since they took Crimson skies "High road to revenge" away from me. Hey we have a huge PC fanbase.... lets just release it to the Xbox to force them to buy it, im still pissed off about that. Tried MW once and didnt find it that appealing. New games doesnt=good game by default.
think I tried that one expansion pack for generals with the nuke generals and so on. But I get the feeling I didnt have that much fun since I dont remember it that well. We just got gamepads for our media center so I have been playing SNES roms for hours on a 46" samsung with the fancy true black LED stuff. Final fight/Rival turf and a crapload of other titles.
Yes, how evil they make it on a simple platform...that doesn't need new videocards, or more RAM...and lets you casually play from your couch. Evil evil evil. It's the trend of gaming....everything is first developed for the console, THEN ported to the PC...if it even makes it to the PC.
I disliked Crimson skies, :\. Love my xbox though. Got 30+ games on it and not a single disc in the house :D
ra3 had a decent campaing , but it was hardly ra but, compared to whats coming with the CNC4, meh also, sandbox gothic .... i loled sadly, true i really hate when most of the more than decent titles must have either (or both) cover system and coop ripped from (i think) GoW GoW was badass, but how many times more do we have play the same pattern of get to cover, wait for enemy, kill him , repeat, only in other games and mostly poorly coded it kinda kills the innovation

Games like Arkam Asylum (a new game that is VERY good) have plenty in them. I'm not doing a speed run, but I'm well over 10-15 hours into the game and not even close to halfway done.
except the games for consoles cost a fortune, FPS games suck on consoles, and it still caters to very simple gameplay.... should we say for people who dont like to read and such. Not that simple gameplay cant be great, but I dont appreciate the whole cinematic pres XXXXXXXXX pres OOOOOOOOOOOO to not get strangled in some retarded video sequence. But I guess thinking people are a minority and not worth developing for. I know thats the trend and its easier to develop when everyone has the same setup and so on, but that doesnt make it any less of a bitch move, to buy and release a sequel exclusively on another platform.
MAG says otherwise, sure it's online only but having played it, it could pass for a PC exclusive game with it's team heavy mechanics, & chain of command gameplay, among other things. Also as far as I remember the only FPS I've played that has alot of text is the Marathon trilogy & even then there were only a few paragraphs scattered across terminals every couple of levels.
It costs more than PC? Really? Lets examine that; Console: an xbox 360 or a PS3 are always going to mean the same thing: This processor, this memory, this GPU. Write the game for one 360 or PS3, it'll work on all. Test matrix? What test matrix! PC? Well, ATI or nVidia. Dual core, quad core...SLI? Driver version? SM2, 3 or 4? How much RAM? What about button layout...more or less buttons on your mouse? Yeah. Terrible test matrix. The game has to scale. Consoles...write it on the 360 first, then port to PS3 (usually how dev work is done, since the PS3 is a bitch to develop for...so was the PS2...and PS1. Will sony ever learn? Maybe the PoS4...err, PS4 will have a good dev kit, IDE and all... Console games make WAY more sense, and make WAY more money than PC games do.
Well seeing how I rarely pay for games and programs it is cheaper in the end since I also need my fancy PC for my education as we work with Photoshop/illustrator/indesign/Autocad/3Dsmax/GIS and so on. I know the wast majority only use the PC/CrApple computers for the lolz and porn. And yes consoles do make a lot of sense and I have had the Nintendo/ps1 and ps2. Think I had a bit of a fever when I wrote the last post and some of my ranting may have kind of melted together. Anyway I just think the gameplay in most new games suck.
