our country is in debt and we are selling our children and our middle/lower class short. the government and we have the nerve to put on fireworks show that costs tens of thousands of bucks to have.. while students have to pay 10% more for tuition for college, extra-curricular activies cut from schools, decrease # of class while increase # of students per class... burning fireworks is like burning money. to be honest, yes, when i was younger, fireworks were badass. but i think we need to get our priority straight here. on another note.. i wonder which country will claim the rare earth metal deposites in the pacific ocean???
The US will claim it...but not openly I am sure it will be something like a war on killer dolphins cuz they have weapons of mass destruction. As for the fireworks I am sure empty could make some cheaper but the show would lag on for ever

If you think back to when we were tribal animals, it's not like eveyone ran around killing everyone else in sight. There was a common goal of survival. But mcthugg, the reason they put on fireworks across the country that run the U.S further into Chinese debt is because it's a diversion. People don't want to think about joblessness, homelessness and the such, so why bother spending money on stopping that when you can watch pretty lights for an hour?
