On VIPER we don't have heavies and some other weapons, and I can tweak it a bit more if need be once I get the rc3 scripts, but until official escort is fixed I don't want to put it on. The game is ruined if nf sabs the vf, it won't respawn.
Because it's clearly broken, and sabbing it will end and ruin the map. The people going to sab it know this. They are warned, they are told not to do it. If they do it anyway, they get banned, it's that simple.
and mortaring/nadespamming it to death? i mean i understand your intentions but i question that its a good way to solve this issue.
Wait, the vf does not respawn? I know I often snuk up the ladder to BE battlements and destroyed the vf but after some time BE always had vehicles again.
Destroy the VF and it respawns. Sabotage it to kill it, and it does not. Also, I hate it when people start mortaring the VF right from the NF start, over all the battlements, right from NF spawn. That's not cool.
Fuck if I know, it never used to happen, and it's not fixed on alt5 either, it's just that the VF has a scout block all around it so scouts can't get near it.
it should be easy to find out - create a map, preplace some building, tie ondestroyed to some entity, sabotage, see if it works. if it does try if it still works with a building spawned with a point_template. edit: while talking about point_template, it might also be a naming issue since point_template renames the entities it created unless a certain flag is set. but dont have much experience with entities either so idk ... -- https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Point_template
Nope, all escort maps I've seen so far have respawning VFs, just the one on emp_escort takes forever to spawn. We got ours destroyed at the 1st NF flag and it spawned at the last NF flag with about 600-800 tickets.
Yeah that's Alt5. The VF could be sabbed and wouldn't respawn if it died from sabbing, if there wasn't a block there to stop people getting at it.
all games should be cutthroat... if you can kill it, you should kill it... I keep looking to see if keef is online so we can find out what's wrong w the official and fix it... but he hasn't been on when Im on.
