Games during the week

Am I the only one that is so pissed when you see a 16-20 player match going on and then suddenly, when your about to get into the mood, after mapchange all the players decide to fcking quit? WTF happend to Empires since some months and don't tell me the same exact reasons like god damn "Exams, Jobs, New game 2 awesome, RL started,...". The player base was more consistant at exactly this time of the last year, someone has to explain me this shit why everyones all depressive or some crap. Oh and trust me, enough europeans play empires.

 

Let me see... Exams, Life, Job, Tribes, Life again, The fact that every time i feel like playing empires either rainbow road or district is on, what else... look! a shiny new jeep! *walks away*

 

basicly map cycle, like the best thing for empires right now is to re atract veterans to play more, this will improve general gameplay ( more rage though but who cares) and improve the view of empires from the noob side, but the problem is, and I'm sorry to say, the map cycles are basicly complete and utter fucking shit, especially the viper map cycle. Best thing is to just get a standard map only map cycle, with a few really good custom map, A FEW, and make it rotate without votes. AND GET ACTIVE ADMINS, not active players that dont admin, BUT ACTIVE ADMINS, that can then change maps when player count goes high. But atm, I'm just going herp derp , play 1 round of empires with 30 players cause of good map, next map is bad, 20 in spec, after 10 minutes everyone is gone.

Both vicki and trickster should remove all of their maps except regulars and the few really good customs, and get admins who actually give a damn about the players instead of not giving a damn and going idc I only have admin to abuse and to tell people to go to our forums to report 1 guy that stole the fucking cv ruined a game and made 10 people ragequit whislt it could be easily prevented if the fucking admin would have slayed him the first time when 10 people type SLAY THE GRIEFER, but no, they have to take screenies and post cause 10 people would be lieing at the same time. Fucking failmins.

The problem is that people don't want to play a lot of maps. I've seen an entire server empty because Mvalley came on. Fucking Mvalley, the greatest Empires map. I mean seriously, what the fuck. There must be 3-4 maps in Empires now, that don't make the entire server disconnect. Fuck if I know what they are.

 

Mvalley sucks trickster, it started sucking 2 years ago, every time it comes on half the server specs, because it is so fucking overplayed and for some reason every single fucking pug we play it.

If rainbowroad or any other shandy map is still in rotation on any server, then that needs to be resolved.

Vicki and Trickster please fix your map rotations and stop making it bound to vote, empires doesnt work as a democracy.

Especially viper server map rotation, if it had more gimicky maps I'd kill myself

 

I re-discovered civ iv, so I've been busy getting my ass nuked by Ghandi...

Since a couple of months, games during the week has been 10-12 nublets/derplets vs 10-12 somewhat good players.

Staxpires is predictable and boring. Getting nuked by Ghandi when I just researched pointy sticks every single game is getting there too though...

we should have maps which r fun to play even with 2-10 players... even if its going to be like emp_minigames.

@mappers: more maps for player base of 16 or less, we might not even get close 30 players at the weekend if its going to look bad in the future.

if they don't play rainbowroad->district->octagons->crossroads->rainbowroad they get completely overwhelmed by the fact that certain maps require game knowledge, tactics and just common sense (As well as more than ONE DIRECTION TO ATTACK IN).

 

R u stoopid? emp_rainbowroad, emp_octagon, emp_hobbes, emp_temple, emp_laststand, ... know what, i better not keep counting all custom maps made by mappers for empires or else flasche would die of shame.

Also yes, negative attitude is big step to recover from this situation. gg forums, next step is killing empires forum.

 

I think he means to make GOOD custom maps rez. not shit like rainbow barf, temple (underground bases woot!) and last stand which is fun for the first time and a half you play unless your on NF.

There used to be other good maps to play but after the game went to steam we lost what little we had left, IE hazard, lolbound, homeland for a while, and others i have since forgotten.

Honestly, I think it's just beyond hope now. That's not being pessimistic, that's being realistic. You can't just repair the playerbase. We had these shitty maps for 3 years now, cycling them relentlessly, and now all the players who enjoyed good maps have left, and we're just left with, as Empty said, autistic 10 year olds. And eth0.

 

it's not beyond hope ffs, dont give up on empires, WELL PLANNED PUBLICITY AND FRIENDLY PLAYERS is what we need.
Publicity the fuck out of empires for 1 week and make shit tons of players ready to be friendly for one fucking week just to save empires. Enough people will volunteer to save empires, I'm sure...
