The problem is early jeep spam. You have to think of how to fix that before you make jeeps free. Research making them free is about the only way forward I can see there without some dumb timer or other variable. But who would waste the time, unless it was passive. Like tying advanced chassis to free jeeps. Jeeps dying and people living with half health is really dumb though.

That can actually be changed, but I think messing with weight can affect handling, which is probably why it hasn't happened yet. Still it is pretty great to push jeeps around like they aren't anything.
Yeah, I think jeeps are close enough to free. It's a good happy medium between the rush problem that you mentioned and the lack of affordable transportation.
Jeeps weigh as much as tanks. Actually, I think they might weigh slightly more now (thanks Obama Smithy). Tanks will eventually weigh more. Oh and it's also possible to damage jeeps (or any vehicle) more if they hit shit.
I've been playing for many years. Never once have I seen jeep spam. Most of the time there are more artilery tanks than jeeps. Nobody uses jeeps, jeeps are instant death. Jeeps require a factory so they cannot be made until the VF is up. Secondly, most people will wait for APC before risking dying helplessly in a jeep. I never use a jeep because, it costs money and when the jeep dies, I die. Really, I should have made this thread, about if a jeep dies, the person spawns with half health at the exact spot. Jeep rush is about spamming jeeps at the start of the match to basically kill the commander. Failing that they still get the base most likely. I just know the game will turn into who can win the initial jeep rush, making the other team have an even worse start then usual. That's bad. I really don't believe this nonsense of no one using jeeps. Don't cost nearly anything and gets you were you are going fast.

People use jeeps all the time. Lots of different people use jeeps but the main reason is to drive it around and cause disruption and most often to convey shock troops directly into the heart of the enemy base. Letting a player survive on 50 health after the jeep is blown up would very much help that kind of incursion, and considering that there aren't great defences that people have to pass, I think it's not the best idea. You can use jeeps more. You have wages now. They are a personal resource that doesn't affect the team. You should have enough to buy jeep after jeep, actually. Unless you're just suiciding time and again. Lastly, there's no reason to have any free vehicles when you can run over people with them. 1 vehicle > 1 infantry while that's still possible.
