I see your Mech, and raise you a roflcopter: Bonus cookie to anyone who can tell me where I borrowed some inspiration from. Hint: It's a game. In space. The sideview should be a dead giveaway.
Dingdingding! Here you go: The rest of you should hop on over to this thread over on Sci-Fi meshes and compare. Or just drool at the scratchbuilding insanity. ove:
My AFV prototype idea, I took the idea from the scorpion, and tiger, and rappe's tank, then I messed up and saved and could not go back. So.....this is the result.
It is worth mentioning, that now because of crying out for an AFV for years, we appear to have 3. Mash, Rappemongo and LiberalElitist. I'm not quite sure what to do about it. Can any of you guys texture properly?
No, hence I'm asking if any of them can texture. Chances are that whoever can, we'll go with that AFV, rather than the best looking one. Although I don't think either of them have developed theirs as much as Mash, and Elitist has made the cardinal sin of putting the turret too far back so it'll handle like a speedboat.
Mine most defenitely is not, I don't know about Eliteists or Mash's. I did fuck about getting it rigged an into the game with minor success. Was bouncy as fuck so I started messing with the rig and scripts. Which only made things worse. Besides, as Trickster points out in his own subtle way, it's not textured. I guess I could finish a HP version, bake normals and use that normalmap as a jumping off point for texturing it. But as Apex pointed out in some other thread, the rather huge passenger cabin on the back of mine would block the turret. It's funny the obvious things you just don't see while working on stuff. So this mysterious Mash AFV... can we see it?
I'll find some pictures. I like it but I'm not 100% sure it's appropriate for the AFV, but it can definitely be made use of. It's not textured but afaik he's put a decent amount of time in on it, so it's pretty developed. For the AFV, I do tend to prefer the slimmer models that Dizzyone, yourself RappemongO and Elitist have presented, and Mash's is a bit more tank-like, but there are other models it could replace. Or maybe my memory is off and it's fine for the AFV, I haven't seen pics for months. Having said that, he's currently trying to get SOMETHING ingame, maybe it's the AFV. We'll see soon I guess.
My model was just an idea i did in about an hour. I would need to do some serious modding to it before it is done.
So I was mistaken, the shape is fine for the AFV, it's not as wide as I thought it was. Anyway, that's Mash's AFV.
the front is too round for brenodi ... and at least a hint of a suspension would be nice (or alternatively big enough wheels). it looks too much like its glued together ... not saying i could do it better, just giving critics (and probably stateing the obvious sry) there are plenty of cool designs for this ...
Very inter-war tank, almost a tankette. It's funny that we've all gone for tracked vehicles though, no?
