    make a new map limit turrets to level two and limit tanks to mediums and no bio ml

    no gayness turret spam and no getting raped as soon as you spawn from dual he heavies funner for everyone

    I can't limit turret levels, that's a coding issue. I wanted to unresearch heavies anyway, if AFVs are useless enough they would be too.

    escort has some deeper problems than turrets and res, the basic gameplay.

    it's not fun for EITHER team when NF wins. fighting for an hour over the same shitty looking area of one map sucks. it sucks. I've seen NF dropping back to the second flag deliberately to move the game along.

    it can be fun for both teams when BE wins.

    the solution: make it easy for BE to win. make it very easy. then halve the tickets available to BE. now they get the fun of pushing quickly through the map, but they are under a better time limit. so NF have to just try to hold off the BE assault as long as they can and try to just hold the line for as long as possible. no more focusing on not wasting tickets, that's boring. more focusing on being beside your brethren on the front line.

    now after that round, switch the teams and play again. same length of map but a lot more fun gameplay.

    How hard can it be to optimise a flat map which winds around a path and has no commander?

    That's ideal for optimising, you don't get empires maps that optimise better than that.

    Escort was mapped badly to begin with. For one, the map was sealed with a giant skybox, leaving a walkable area under the map.

    You could fix that easily enough, and even then it would simply be a matter of shoving a hint plane in and boom, optimised map.

    It was. However the current version is fixed and has semi-decent skyboxes.

    When you said was, well you forgot to say what it became. A great example is, "The car was made out of bricks". Well what is it now? Is the car still made out of bricks?

    Well, my idea for flag 1 is that it becomes a quick stop for BE, they can attack from 3 sides, and have all kinds of advantages.
    The problem is building it, so we've made an arrangement, Cyber-Kun will be working on the current version of escort, while i build a new version.
    I don't know if one or both versions will be kept, that depends on how good they will be.

    AFAIK cyber-kun didn't get approval for changes only for optimization.

    the definition of "optimizing" is really quite vague for mapping

    I'm closing the topic because there are known bugs that will get fixed in 2.21. There is no need to whine about it any more.
