Anyone wants to do entity stuff like explosions, the timer, ... perhaps aircraft flying over getting shot down?
Does the debri do damage to anything it collides with? Because falling aircraft and crashing into tanks sounds fun.
Just messaged harry, he says he recently formatted his computer and cannot find the map. No dropship for you.
im sorry i couldnt be arsed to fiddle around and get hammer working. on the more positive sidenote i made some progress in blender. this was what happend to the lamp and my baking project. i know how it works now, it just didnt with this model. this is what i did today. i will try to make that low poly tomorrow. i also made a rock (shitty normals aswell, but better then the lamp), just no picdurrs. also i opened the vmf in crafty, exported as obj and imported in blender (merged vertices, crashed blender and said, fuck it ill do it flat shaded) anyways, with a bit of merging work this should be very handy for making props of all sort once the base geometry is done. i read you could do that to a bsp aswell and you get textures too, i just didnt have one to try. why didnt i do this whole i learn blender thing earlier?
Left the barricades for you Silk in the drop link on steam messaging. Here's the link for anyone else that wants a look. https://www.dropbox.com/s/96itobof09sd082/empires_misfire.zip On a side note.... I really don't like share client stuff of any type. No telling what they open you up for. Had to clean 2 other apps and one other file bit that were installed along with drop box that I didn't get prompted for. Wankers.
Never was a fan of the standard dropship. Gave it an overhaul this evening, more of an airborne drop than cargo.
I would shape up the head and nose so it doesnt appear crooked, and maybe play with the wings a little so its not bending downwards.
So.... nearly done with final barricade number 3. This one took the longest as I kept throwing out ideas and starting over. I basically blended ideas from a few different things and came up with one I though worked. It was a bear learning how to tell blender to build it. I built it easily with my other CAD software, but it created way too many faces. Blender cut it down to 1/3. I don't have a proper texture map yet so it looks like dung. But you get the idea of the look and how it could be placed for both vehicles and players. Here's few different angle shots since blender makes any one view hard to read. P.S. with this texture, it looks kind of like some nasty meat grinder from DOOM.
List of mods..... cargo box replaced with cargo plane wide body, thrusters moved from the rear to the wings, dual stumpy stabilizer (tail fin) replace with one large one, nose turret to a radar dome, winglet tips extended, and cut the vert count down by about a thrid. Valve didn't do much optimizing it seems. @BigTeef Wing droop should be very easy to adjust. The crooked nose might again just be the perspective blender adds in. That part's alignment unchanged from the original... unless you thought that one looked wonky too. BTW, another angle.....
