    I am going to give you guys a map to test if you desire it. ^^

    Basically, it was a map doodle to test a new game mode to be released for the orange box engine empiresmod. it is not supposed to look "that" good (took only 3 days to make this) as normal maps should since it was just a gameplay test ;)

    But the game mode i had in my head extensively made use of adding tickets to the teams ticket pools, this turned out to be impossible in empiresmod :( so i had to revise some things...

    so i edited the map a little (added flags, rebalanced tickets etc etc, basically making it playable... not perfect... but its better to release it then to let it wither away on my hard drives anyway)

    the goal of the map is this: the empire needs to capture all the flags, they have a commander and relatively abundant resource quantity's
    the faction needs to hold at the very least the last flag, they have no commander and no vehicles but the terrain, defenses and fortifications are at there side plus they have an abundance of tickets and supplies because they control these lands

    Story:

    the faction in this map has taken refuge in an old bunker complex left over by the old Jekotian empire and have set up some artillery batteries and fortifications to fend off the empire

    they have lured in a large army of empire forces and are now shelling with the artillery at the empire's resupply lines effectively cutting them off

    the empire naturally want to resupply there cut off forces, but are pinned down by the stationary artillery inside a bunker further inland, the fact that the artillery is stationed inside a bunker (hard to explain, see in map sorry :() prevents effective bombardments so the quickest way to disable the artillery is to disable whatever is relaying the locations to the artillery and this happens to be only a small bunker, disable the radio room (by capping the flag) and the empire can resupply and reinforce there army effectively crush any remaining factionist troops and advance on with the victory assured!

    however, if the empires cut off troops run out of supplies, the faction succeeds in its plans and will have no trouble crushing a large portion of the imperial troops with only a few hands full of factionists, because any other supplies cannot risk to come inside the artillery range! it would be a great victory and boost for the morale for the faction that the empire cannot tolerate to happen!

    link (some models "could" be missing, these are no more then esthetic models i left them out because it seems i cannot get empires to work with bspzipping :s anyone know something about this and how to fix?)

    bunker inspiration plan= [​IMG] (this is another version (mines the bigger version) of the bunker that i built, but it looks very alike)

    known issues: some textures look bad because i ported this map from orange box and it had some different orange box textures (like the grass, it used to be mud with dirty grass, and the water too)

    the build able ramp sometimes drops into the map, i am going to fix this on next compile

    actually I would think adding tickets could be easily coded into empires..
    You just need a coder to spend like 10 minutes or so.

    Ofcourse this all depends on the code itself, but a simple get/set&math function should do the trick..

    That would require an empires minimod to be installed before the map can be played, but i ask the moderators to hardwire it in empires but they are busy :( i cannot blame them but it makes things hard for me ^^

    i would like to plead here and now for the moderators to please consider to implement adding tickets!

    I appreciate your feedback, and partially agree on your conclusions
    i hate snipers so i kept it and it is only a doodle, so not really that esthetically high ^^

    I would have expected negative criticism because i basically did what everyone said was bad for empires, i added trenches and trench warfare :o

    well after glancing at the pics I can't really find any reason for people to not like it other than "its not a comm map"...

    looks ok, but the lighting and textures make it look pretty bland :( theres basically two areas - outside, dark, weird fog, looks like it has potential but atm looks dull anddepressing. Then theres the inside which again has potential, but lighting and textures are same throughout and make it look samey and bland. From the screens i can imagine getting bored of the map quickly just because it looks so monotone.

    You can still have the map dark but with a bit of colour to help orient you with your surroudings, for example spotlights pointing off the bunkers, dark red lighting inside the bunker windows so they look like red slits, small point lights around the structures to help you find doorways and stuff.

    Like I said looks like it has a lot of potential and would be inteersting to play.

    I can tell you from my experience, that people are not able to
    read even ONE hint writen on the minimap.

    The name is akward, emp_monitoring ?!

    will negative values in bleed add tickets?

    Well, it makes some sence if you read the story behind it, it is an observation bunker after all.
    and pressing enter or map gives a clear vision on the hints

    i am really looking for a better name... ^^

    as far as i know it will make tickets bugged/unreliable :c

    theowningone did a sourcemod plugin to add tickets, set tickets, add resources, set resources etc. Maybe speak to him about ways to implement this?

    Yes, i am fully aware of the blandness of this map, it is just a ported doodle but i wanted to see if the empires community is interested in it, and if so (it seems so from all your posts, thank you!!!) i will fix it up into a fully functional and good looking new map

    i have some considerations though:

    1: balancing on tickets and resources, is this good? (i am thinking no, but suggest me a better way)

    2: is everything clear on how things work in this map? something needing more explanation?

    4: spelling errors, i am bad in English someone make sure i have no typo's in it and if so pm please do not post or i will feel ashamed :(

    3: is it to small? because it used to be only 1 part of a 3 part map (its the part that used to be called "trapped", then there was a follow up part called "invasion", and a part called "destruction" together forming a mini campaign where the empire needed to win a map to progress, and if they lost, they where pushed back a map and once they ended up winning "destruction" they won the campain

    changing in the next version(s):

    the textures will be redone, i will add some variations in interior design and fix up some graphical bugs

    i will fix some parts of the cinematics (more artillery going off all around, to give a more intense game play experience, the dropship flying away more fluently)

    the hinge at the explodable door will be fixed (its translucent accidentally)

    some other minor things

    hmm will the nf arty bunkers be able to hit anything? that would be pretty epic to see brenodi soldiers rushing for cover under fire by arty and mg's :D

    Maybe make the "killing zones" nobuild ( so the engys on both sides wont just wall them off with cameras/turrets/walls, but add some cover points, you can add some wooden fences like in escort but surely not as many as there.

    Really great map just a couple of points:
    1. I get large error symbols just above/beyond the bridge and against one wall of the nearest part of the bunker.
    2. The bridge its self, i had to noclip to find a point to build it from.
    3. The main door pillbox has horrible lighting in it and is actually easier to fire into than out of.
    4. As i played it n my own i don't know whether flag captures trigger anything but do the hatches on the top of the bunker ( the one with the ladder up to it inside) open at all?
    5. Do you really need tanks on this map, APCs i can understand but not tanks, especially not heavies.
