i know wat you mean seargent

but with your way ppl will distrust echother and keep on spotting echother for "bad appels"

maybe make it so that you need a new suit evry 2 minutes or so
or make the small radar show an enemy so evryone who pays attention to it can see where a disguised person is?

Well, when pointing your crosshair at a team mate, his name would appear.
If you point at an Enemy (even if he is disguised) no name is shown.
Imo this would be sufficient but I am up for everything that balances it better!

For example turrets could spot the disguised enemy over for example 10m.
    Cameras over 25m.
    Making him loose his disguise.
(he would have to find / kill another (dead) enemy then for new clothes)

There could also be a timer on the disguise like you said.

I don't like them showing on the radar as enemys .. that would be too easy .. but they could for example not show up on it at all, same as their name.
    That would be quite obvious.

Having to avoid turrets and cameras makes getting through a lot more difficult.

Additionaly the class with such an ability should have pretty weak weapons .. no death ray (tm).

I understand the point of distrust against your teammates but I've never seen lots of Covert Ops in ET on one team for example.
Believe me .. it would be too obvious and they aren't the best fighters ;)

Additionally he can't (at least shouldn't) be able to read team chat and there should be a voice command like in Enemy Territory:
    "Enemy in disguise!"

He should have some means to cause destruction though, as why else would he be there?

That must have been awesome :D!

But how about adding some details which allow you to tell spies and real teammates apart, at a closer look?

Adding spies will likey take away too much team work from the game. Everyone will shoot eachother and shit all the time. FF is not an option because it is so freaking abused when admins aren't around. I just isn't fun, and fun is important in a game.

I can't imagine people shooting each other all the time. And as I suggested, there could be a revealing detal, which couldn't noticed without a closer look - no shooting required.

NO for invisibilty. This is "disguising", not "cloaking". And it's too similiar to the invisibility skill that the scout already has.

its yust a way of adding disguising into the game,
disguised players must look like they are of your team
only, when dealing whith real players, this is nearly inpossible to create, ppl will find ways to find out quikly and the skill will become useless to all!
but wat if you wont be able to see them? and only the commander dous?

look at it from this way, in c&c red alert you have spies who can take on enemy suits so enemy's wont attack them, but you as the commander cant select enemy spies hiding, and you get a red croshair if you mouseover, so you can order your units to attack a unit of your own, this way you know it is a spy

dogs in c&c red alert still see troug the disguise thoug so they are a good countermesure

i liked this approach so i wanted to make it possible to have it in empires,

but cous the units in empires can think, they quikly get who is disguised and who is friend, so i say disguised scouts are invisible for normal players but comm can still spot them

and the cameras can reveal them (they are the dogs)

*sigh* there are so many sugjestions that sound good but are really useless or unblanacing...

    AAAAAAnyways...

If you see a teamate runing twards you and suddenly you are dead (weap silencer) then there was nothing you could do. But if a sneaky scout comes up to you and you notice him, you can stop him.

You could try and spot the small detail (whatever that might be) that would reveal him to be an enemy, and then take cover or shoot back.

    That's-a not so-a good.

Once the Scout rifle has been nerfed / removed / replaced he won't be a problem for a rifleman and only a rather minor threat to other infantry.

His purpose is gathering information with stealth or speed.

His purpose is supposed to be recon and information gathering but I dont quite see how picking me off at 600M's is exactly 'recon' if you know what I mean ;)

If they nerf the super sniper on the scout then they should compensate by giving him tons of other nifty gadgets then...30x binocs for looking at that cute female engi...nvm XD
