We could always just make it so that reactive has a 50% chance to zap anything attached to it (sticky stun bomb too).

lol, yeah sure, whatever. The mortar will kill you with one shot, If you dodge it, the gren will scurry behind something before you can lay enough shots to kill him. And that's long range fighting, at close range the gren can just shoot the thing without you having time to answer.

must be ^, mobile riflemen are a bitch to hit w a mortar cause you gotta lead em, and they can just go back the other way after you fire. the only reason a rifleman has any real reason to fear a gren is if they are HMG whoring.
At 1vs1 riflemen do beat grenadiers on open spaces. But at close range and at spaces with a lot of crap to hide behind, grenadiers will always get the jump on everyone else Grenadiers can jump out of a wall, pop a shell, and jump back into the wall. A rifleman doesn't have enough time to dodge the shell and then efficiently shoot at the gren, unless he shoots while running, which isn't efficient.
rifleman are only better than grenadiers against heavy tanks because it's impossible to kill heavies with grenadier. otherwise, gren > rifleman.
Except when you use armor detection and squad arty. Or just armor detection and find the weak side and pick at it.
Unless its an infantry map, or an infantry only area, I usually carry stikies, and so do most riflemen.
