Oh, I'm surprised that nobody has ever corrected me before. They are probly too busy calling me a Nazi faggot to notice.
If the Earth managed to get this far from being a cloud of space dust, then us ruining the entire environment won't even dent it. It's spent a few billion years to get this far, it can wait a few thousand more for us to go.
i usually only hear this as part of excuses why people still are ecologially irresponsible assholes. not judging you from that, i assume it to be true aswell - life on earth "survived" at least 3 mass extinction events. its just so incredibly stupid to deprive oneself of ones very foundation of living and then justify it like that.
I'm more arguing against the argument of protecting nature for the sake of nature, simply because nature doesn't give two shits about us and it'll be fine. Protecting nature for the sake of ourselves though is something I can understand.
but as nature is interdependent and we aint even close to fully understand those dependencies isnt the intention marginal and the conclusion the same? edit: god im such a moral fag, i even sort my garbage, only buy organics and fair trade shit wherever i can. i have no car and work on reducing my energy consumption. i became a damn hippie oO
