If the person making that argument wants to make that connection, then I'll leave that task to them. But I've seen far more people make the argument that we should save nature for the sake of saving nature instead of selfishly saving nature for the sake of ourselves. It's relevant to note that I've lived in Oregon my whole life. Sorting garbage, buying organic and using alternative transportation is almost a standard in this state. Relative to us, hippies are the ones that live out in the communes. And it's not particularly uncommon to see people making the argument of "Fuck humanity, nature is more important, it'd be better off if we didn't exist", combined with the anarchists, libertarians, communists and so forth. Europe makes the United States in general look like right-wing folks, but Portland makes Europe look like a bunch of centrists.

I own several Samsung stuffs. I don't give a shit what people say on the net, stuff has quality and endurance. I am too smart to ever touch any of the apple's overpriced shit so I cannot really compare.
I got an iPod a few years ago and it still works so I can't complain. Not an Apple fanboy though, just saying it actually does its job.
