I think it would be useful if you could control what side of the vehicle you exited on. Perhaps by holding a movement key whilst pressing the use key.
or by exiting in the direction you look at. i actually thought it would be like that when i started playing only to find out i was wrong ... this suggestion really is good +1
this is retarded.. why not have everyone exit the same door? im no armored vehicle personel carrier expert but.. it seems they only have 1 hatch *the back* for troops to exit.. and maybe a smaller hatch on the roof.. and MAYBE an emergency hatch for when the shit hits the fan. if everyone exist the same door, then the driver would have to think which way the door is facing to avoid pew pew.
It's bad company style, you don't need to use the door when you can blow the wall up anywhere else. Oh and who ever said these tanks had a definite door? and that the soldiers don't exit by turning liquid and going through the cracks and seems in the tanks. hasn't been covered in the backstory, so you'll just have to use your imagination.
if you crawl out of a hatch you would be ontop of a tank, since that would be completly buggy ingame and not working proberly anyways, you have to think further, the particular question is which site would you jump/climb down to, you wouldn't want to jump down on a site which would get you killed. Also doors ... why not exiting through the tanks windows?
How about an official developer statement which I'm sure is reflected by all of my fellow devs wholeheartedly: Who the fuck cares how you get out of the tank, as long as it's not a pain in the ass.

Which I am sure all APCs of the future will be fitted with to aid rapid battlefield deployment and save lives thanks to reduced medevac times. I care more for fluid game play than realism and I think this would be one small improvement that could make a difference in certain situations. When getting out of a vehicle now it just feels a bit awkward, you can always see it in an APC rush, people piling out then running in a half circle as they are disorientated. Also there are few things more annoying than spawning in an APC some idiot has left in the open at a choke point to be continually picked off by small arms fire because you need to sprint round a rock or a wall before returning fire.

Come on do we have to argue about this? I have considered how much of a positive impact "exiting only through actual doors" would be on Empires. It is close to zero. OP's idea is fine. Stop bitching. It's not like this game is realistic to begin with.
