fn points out a problem fn provides a solution to said problem non-factors thread shit jephir shoves the code at fn "if you want it that bad, you code it" trickster and neoony scoff fn codes the solution non-factors return thread shitting ensues
you kinda forgot that everybody absolutely ignored your first post in this thread...as you didnt provided any REAL solution until after me and security actually started to think about one... skipping the truth with big ego + respect for actually trying to code the solution - respect for all the bullshit around you are a good leader and strategist, but the big YOU is making me sad oh...btw...actually, are you aware that You are the one who took this thread down?
and with great reason, no doubt. now why don't you just explain to me why it's better to handicap the commander as opposed to giving him tools that work in a much more logical fashion?
The only way I would think mass targets acceptable is if they functioned like engineer cameras with the delay (but improved, half way between the total accuracy of a sinlge target anf the engi cameras) and had some kind of cooldown. A general idea of your target location for flanking, etc and still takes the commander some skill to decide when to use it. IMO it should be a click on a location and it would ping that part of the map with an area of effect, the longer you hold the mouse button down the bigger the radius of the area of effect, but the cool down also increases, this adds depth/tactics and balance to its use and stops spamming which is not fun to do. Basically the comm can create an invisible camera in an area with a short duration, the range of the camera balanced against the cooldown for another, the radius would be visible to the comm, like when placing turrets, and once placed within it a clock style line would sweep around to show how long it has left. Perhaps even some kind of stamina type mechanic, something fun, thoughtful and engaging for the commander to do on the battle field. This could play along side single targets which can be issued effectively at the same time for when the commander actually needs something dead - prioritisation. There, I solved the whole problem. I've made my nub suggestion for the year. It was not fun when fighting a team that had constant crosshairs on you all game. Its ends up being entirely about twitch reflex when everyone has wall hacks and the commander didn't even need line of sight! It really made gren op as fuck too.
This actually sounds good to implement. And yes, as I said, if targeting gets too OP, it would affect the FPS part of this game in a bad way.
