Could be that jeeps are a focus of hate---suck up resources and can't kill directly. APCs are a focus of love, providing comfort and supplies. For realism sake, I'd trust the winch on an APC more than I would on a mini-Hummer :)

"I think jeep is a pretty cool guy. eh suck up resources and doesn't afraid of anything."

...for some reason your post made me think of that.

Back in the day you would just 9 mine comms out of places they shouldn't be. Thats probly why.

I was actually thinking about this about a week ago. I still think it would be lolsy and worth it.

I think it might be even a good idea to get this hook on jeeps.

That way if you had like 4 jeeps with hooks on them and they all fire to heavy tank those could roll it around but maybe not pull where-ever they want to.

I don't know what bad actually would be caused by this idea or what good benefits but I think this could be at least worth trying. For example you could pull CVs away from the front of APCs pushing it to water and so on.

Also this would encourage team work. 2 jeeps go out there and start harrashing a medium tank or heavy tank by dragging it around in circles forcing the player who controls it to rotate his turret more so he could hit the targets which actually are firing at him.

Maybe even make it so that the hook is controlled from the second seat of the jeep. That way the driver would have to stop the jeep in order to aim and shoot it and after that start driving.

That way jeep has to stay still and become easier target for tank fire.

Anyway, I'd say this is worth testing if this was made to work on jeeps and maybe the hook would reduce their armor by one or two plates.

Oh come on. And when on tropicvendetta, the jeeps pull out their now drowned comm, the match doesn't stop.

Why should the devs balance a suggestion around a single map that isn't going to become official?

Because the devs work in mysterious ways.

    Ok
on Tropic Vendetta, theres a chance your com will instantly die.
When the com drops, its pretty far out there and its going to be very weak. It'll take a long time, if not impossible to fish the com out.
With all the manpower used to keep your com alive, and the potential breach in your base, you probably lost already.

It would last forever if engineers kept healing the com too

    OHMAHGODNECRO.

Personally, I think a lot of problems with vehicles getting stuck are solveable by the addition of four wheel drive.

But apparently it would lag the game so.... -_-

Didn't they use to have 4 wheel drive in 2.12?

Most vehicles have more than four wheel drive. This isn't the good old RL.

He's right, the BE medium and a few other tanks are hoverboats that sink.

I don't see why you don't just form a jeep chain and fish the com out that way. :)

Now that I think about it this would be an obvious way to capitalise on source's physics engine.

ohh ohh... I have an idea... Get a few jeeps to rush up hills into spots that a com can't get to then have them pull the com to safety up there. :)

Mmm... maybe but I imaginated that the cable of the hook would be pretty short so you couldn't fire it over great distances to prevent all this kind of tricks.
