Aircraft is either going to make Empires awesome or kill it...

    Ahhhh, i was thinking along the lines of bombers of course, being slower, and they just going super slow, and watching the faster fighter fly past them. But still, hope there is a rear gunner, and perhaps for the dropshipship, side gunners like those ships out of Star Wars episode 2 (the clone tropper dropships). Also you realise that for the dropship you have to have the starship troopers theme playing in the background, and maybe the occasional quote. "TAKKKE COOOVVARRR......would you like to know more?" ;)

    Technically, any feature'll make Empires either Suck or Win. You cant bet on both heads and tails.

    ...

    Course, it could land on its side, divide by zero, and turn Empires into an adventure platformer JRPG developed by Hillbilly.

    I'd like if the aircrafts would be more like a transport for peoples and the diver is not able to shoot, but there would be miniguns on the sides so passangers can use them. :)

    The dropship is a transport, passenger weapons is something that has to be discussed later on.

    You just aren't very good at playing ES. (It's not your fault, the game is unintuitive in some ways and assumes you've played that sort of space shooter before -- usually a game like that would have an extensive tutorial.)

    The key to solving most of your problems is to bind the 'target nearest enemy' to a key that is easy to hit. When someone is shooting at you, just slam that key and 99% of the time you'll target them, making it easy to shoot back and evade.

    Whenever you don't have a target, slam that button and you'll find someone to kill -- instant orientation. (Learning to read your radar helps massively, too, but ultimately knowing where the closest enemy is will often be the only orientation you need. "The enemy's gate is down" and all that rot -- you're in space, so your target is the only orientation you need.)

    When your team has managed to clear the space around the enemy base, hitting that key will target the enemy capital ships, both orienting you and alerting you to this fact.

    When you're escorting a bomber, just hit the key repeatedly and it will warn you the instant anyone approaches, letting you protect them effectively. Conversely, when you're trying to shoot down bombers, this will let you find them much faster.

    It even makes it easy to shoot down incoming missiles aimed at your ship.

    It's the magic button, it does everything. Setting up the other targeting keys can help you orient yourself, too, but 'target nearest enemy' is the most important by far. And... the fact that it's unbound by default in ES is a terrible, terrible design decision, needless to say.

    I know about targetting... Good idea to hammer the key, I hadn't thought of that...

    The best bombing vehicle for NF would be a g'damn KIROV AIRSHIP from Red Alert 2. That would be total awesomeness.
