Grizzly: Why are you making a map to encourage scouts, when this map will likely not release until after the scout is brutally murdered and replaced?
Becouse it's possible to hide as other classes? Riflemen still really gain from beeing able to pewpew from above, however i did not think this was neccisary to explain :p
Well, when I see scout areas of a map in progress, and the map will be out in a few versions, I think wtf.
emp_bush has a layout quite similar to this and from my experience most players will go to middle no matter what happens elsewhere. Dunno how to counter that but maybee you come up with something.
Look arround the map. Were in the Mountains 6000+ feet above sea level. Evergreens moss and certain shrubs will grow that high not seasonal plants. Just because I spell poorly dosent mean I don't know what I'm talking about. I recomend using rocks for cover spots. And add some rock patches to the peaks in the 3d sky box. Lets get some mountains going.I say Make the map theme less about Giant Pipes and More like a mountaintop science facility for the empire. The barracks's in the middle are quite repetative, I recommend using fewer of those and add a larger facility with many wings and expansions.
bump! i assume noone is working on this, may i have the vmf (and if needed all textures it uses) to finish it? when i playtested it in this version it was included with, it seemed like a quite decent commander map, it would be a waste not to release it ...
yes it was grizzly and i asked him quite a while ago (in 2.21) if im allowed to do that (he agreed - we actually iirc he said he dont care). the problem was he couldnt give me the vmf and the decompile (as most decompiles) fucked up in a way that it would have been faster to recreate the whole map ... there might even be a post somewhere on this forums (or was that in IRC, steamfriends, i cant remember) also, i dont want to install SVN, couldnt just someone upload the vmf and textures and send me a pm with the links? pleeeeeaaase ...
http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197962794051/ That's his steam profile but he isn't online much atm. I can't find the VMF in my developer SVN or the testing SVN, just the BSP in my testing one.
Actually from what I've just heard, Omneh already has the vmf and got permission a couple of years ago but never got around to it. He said he's looking into it atm and might take it on himself.
