Turrets and Camera's would be disabled in the corn fields. Considering most of the map will be corn except for the streams and farm houses/barns, this means most of it will be navigating the corn.
ammo boxes would be hidden in the corn fields too (for a regular map) and mines completely hidden, it would literally be a mine field
People step on mines regardless of whether they're invisible or not, it wouldn't affect the average player
I mean, it'd be fun. Infantry would have cover from tanks and tanks would have free reign over the entire map. I think that'd be pretty cool. Mines would also be impossible to see.. hey we are on the same level for mine detection skill. Along with this, the map would be big enough that if you step on one it's a big fluke because there's so much space for you to travel that it would be unlikely you'd step on one.
We will see about THAT when sv_pure is introduced! Also, don't you need to be an admin on a server to be able to execute that? If not... damn.
Well, regardless, I just ask that people don't ruin other people's fun. Also, someone make me big Oak Trees please
its a client side command (cl_ indicates that) and sv_pure has nothing to do with it, it only makes sure client and server files match by hash. maybe it could be marked as cheat codewise, not sure about that. also you dont need to be admin, i just tried it out on nubs noob training server (insurrection has foilage) and your trust in players is cute. cute, but naive.
In theory, you can set up an entity that spams the client's console with the command so that even if someone actively tries switching away from it, it keeps changing back. That's quite bad though.
Thank you for this wonderful knowledge. We will be making maps wonderful now. #MakeMapsHaveFoliageAgain
Here is another screenshot. I made a nice little farmhouse. This will be the only building on the map probably. Maybe a broken barn elsewhere but this is it really. The rest will be corn. Let me know what you think and just imagine corn all the way around this baby as that WILL be what the rest of the map is. What are your thoughts though? Does this bring a "good look" to Empires for a noobies first time playing it? Once I get the prop_detail models figured out I will begin work on rigging it up to be a comprehensive tutorial. For some reason, even with an example, it isn't working.
A minigame idea for you, set a 2 mins timer, make all flags instant-cap and when time's up, see which team owns more flag.
Did you try the new version I sent you? AND extracted all the files including the .vbsp file? Make sure you read the readme file, I wrote a few things required for it to work. I could do that, gonna play with the bots and get that silly arty system working today.
