I had poutine in Montreal when I visited earlier this year. I didn't realise it was just chips, cheese and gravy. That's not a thing, Canada can't just take a British habit and then make it into a national treasure food!
A nation is defined by its language and culture. There are nations without states (e.g. The kurds) and states without nation (e.g. Austria).
Anyone else think that, in the developed world, we've gotten past 'this cuisine comes from this country' bullshit? Good food is good food. Eat it.
Any food I make is British, fucking suck it. I just made shredded chilli beef tempura. It was a British dish because I made it.
