I thought a lot of the clues were pretty blatant, or posts seemed to indicate a lot of things. Like myself being implicated almost immediately in Brutos' murder. There's no one else on the thread that it could really have been apart from z10000m...and even then, it wasn't as likely.

If it's one kill per night you should probably just cut the clues, have an unspecified number of scouts that would probably be like 2 instead, and just roll on with that.

The medic protecting the rifleman on the first hit on him was crazy, and that made it super difficult for us, but it hardly ever happens, so kudos you two.

I'm happy my predictions from the first post were right, in that it was Trickster and Ikalx even though at first I was just trolling it was Trickster. As for the rifleman I didn't expect it to be Hygrom, I thought it was Spartacus because him and McGyver were kind of teamed together during most of the game, and since rofl and engie knew each other and infiltrators knew rofl it would have made sense that they would team up.

As for new roles two that could make the game interesting would be escort and bus driver. Escort blocks someones role for a night, and could be on the infiltrator side. Bus driver would switch the places of two people so anything that happens to either of them will go to the other person they are switched with.

edit: DDD cmon man what was up with that getting too friendly with infiltrators. I guess that's why they call their leader "The Trickster".

What was up with this? I was genuinely surprised to see 3 votes for me within a short amount of time. Was there any organization?

Aside from my troll post at the beginning, I was pretty honest. I didn't expect to be targeted, but I figured I could be blunt with my opinions since I was base crew. If I did get killed, it would be better me than the rifleman.

It was a great game if people weren't so damn paranoid. I didn't vote because I saw no need to vote when it was already going to go a way that I was interested, but I couldn't vote to save myself because I fell asleep in the middle of the day again and missed the vote. I didn't post because it seemed that anyone who said anything was immediately suspected of being an infiltrator; push a person hard and people think you're an infiltrator due to being aggressive, push a person soft and people think you're trying to be cunning and therefore an infiltrator. And if by chance you ended up defending an infiltrator or lynching a base crew when it was clearly an accident, oops.

Especially when it came to the clues around Brutos. Everyone was saying it was Ikalx or Z100000M, so why did they decide to simply lynch people who weren't talking? Is it that hard to imagine that some people prefer a more patient style of playing?

lynching people who arn't active is a way of safe playing (i am totally guilty of it). basically if someone ends up dead and they are a base crew, you can just say that they were useless anyways by not participating.

Damnit McGuyver, you were supposed to bandwagon Hygrom for the fun of it!

Anyway, now that the round is over i'm going to come in with an outsiders opinion.

The biggest clue implicating Kane was accidental. I don't know what to add.
The clues against Trickster were fairly obvious, maybe tone some clues down a bit or include less of them.
Not super-related, but Trickster, calling Paradox dumb for being right in calling you out is just poor sportsmanship and pretty much general assholery. You're normally not like that, but I just saw how you acted as mutually degrading.
There needs to be more clues about who is what class, although quite subtle ones. Only the Scout died this round, and he was killed by the fucking Rifleman. Infiltrators had it tough in that respect.
One kill a night just doesn't cut it. Next round the commander is NOT going to side with the infiltrators, the basecrew won't double lynch their own members, and it will just completely ruin any hope the infiltrators have of succeeding.
Special shit you did in the old rounds like 1-2 sacrificial base crew should be brought back, it added an extra level of depth to the rounds that had them. Although no bodyguards, I think you would agree it just doesn't work.

Anyway, good game overall, can we have another one start within a week?

I had much fun this round, it was never clear which side is going to win. Altough to be honest, the base crew wasn't doing a good job, there wasn't enough analysis going on (i think because of the only 24h voting period) and the scout didn't bring much to the table either.

Haha, it was pure luck that i targeted Hygrom. I was totally annoyed that i couldn't get enough people to vote Trickster in that round, so i thought, let's not protect any of those idiots but Hygrom who only just came back from afk. I was absolutely WTFed when i read what happened in the night.

At the end of the game it was just a matter of excluding people who i trusted and killing the rest. If the infils wouldn't have tried to bandwagon on ImSpartacus i would have voted him first before Ikalx. ^^

Also i didn't find the hints were too obvious, Trickster was only killed because infils tried their "inverse psychology thingy". Kane made himself suspicious because of the double kill, LordDZ was obvious only when he voted ImSpartacus after not participating much at all and Ikalx was just the only not trusted person left.

I couldn't keep my mouth shut any longer so I just talkedtalkedtalked. Not how my first bet was blown in just a few hours, the next ones were correct BUT SOMEONE MURDERED MY FRIENDS :pathetic:, and then it went downhill.

I actually assumed that the infils were Trickster, Kane, Zoom/Ikalx and someone. And then I talked to Kane and everything went to hell as I wrongly assumed he was innocent.

Ok, I've been kind of waiting for it to finish to say this.

I was pretty disappointed with the other infiltrators, besides Kane maybe. Ikalx and Dz just didn't seem too interested in playing. When accusations get thrown at you in one of these games, the standard way to move it along is to get other infiltrators to do it for you. But they never happened, I was pretty much totally isolated within the game and completely unable to defend myself. I must have sent like 30 PMs out and got maybe 3-4 replies, and only Kane ever really wanted to talk with me over steam, and he wasn't able to play properly until I ended up dying.

Essentially, I had to solo. Then I died, so Kane had to solo. And then he died, and so no kills even got sent in until Empty berated the other 2 into doing something. I've played with Ikalx before so I know he can be really good at this, just think it's a shame he didn't really partake in it as much as in previous games. My only real play was to try and get Brutos on-side, and use his triple vote to protect myself. Had it not been for that I'd have been dead 2 nights earlier, but as it was, there was no way I was going to get voted down before I'd wiped out a good number of you. We worked out who the rifle was, but sadly, it was too late, because he already had engineer cover, so he became invincible until we found the engineer, which never really happened after that. To be honest, I didn't guess he was going to be McGyver, because like Empty said, being the one driving the band wagoning isn't something someone with a role like that usually would do. So without a doubt, well played McGyver, I totally assumed you were just dumb, but it's nice to see someone really playing the game properly. By acting so dumb, so stupidly accusatory, we just ignored him because we figured he didn't really have a clue and was just a bored base crew guy trying to cause drama.

Original first hit was actually going to be Z!00000m, but someone suggested hit Grant instead, and I figured people wouldn't be stupid enough to think that because he'd accused me, we'd hit him. Sadly, I overestimated the average IQ of the players in this game. Whilst players like Z!0000m, DDD and Brutos played ball, those who are more challenged just leapt on it. I know for next time not to assume intelligence, because it gets me killed.

The worst thing is, there were only like 1 or 2 clues on me, and none were actually the ones you guys picked up on. Feedback I gave Empty over steam:

Start with 2 Infils, and give them a 3rd from any of the active players after a couple of days. It'd stop AFK infils making it difficult, and it'll be interesting watching someone try to change his viewpoint without people noticing. Roles should be less direction action, so the Rifle and the Scout should go. Rifle can just eliminate someone which is kind of gay, and Scout can basically do that too with the knowledge he gains, only in a safer, less destructive manner. Roles like Engineer, or one with the ability to "watch" a player to see what he does that night, or other such passive roles, would be better used. And there could be more of them without breaking the game, thus keeping more base crew interested.

Totally, you can blame me. I did a godawful job and was just way too distracted with the other things I had to do in June. For what it's worth, i'm sorry dude. I just wasn't free enough to have a big role at that time, and when things started to get more difficult with what I was doing, infiltration bit the dust quickly.

I don't really have an excuse for that, it's not what I wanted to do, it's just what happened. To be fair, I thought *I* would get hit second, not last, so I wasn't too worried about it at the time. I figured DZ would be pretty much invisible, and Kane..well, he was just unlucky.

I suggested Grant randomly, thinking he'd be the rifle (I was also mildly trolling). Reckoned not, I did, on key roles being afk.

I like these ideas. Maybe bring back gren too, that's always a blast.

In another game, I had a saboteur who would take the place of an infiltrator if an infil died, but otherwise would be killed off like any other basecrew. Was kinda interesting, but it's more like a win-win/lose-lose situation for that player. It might be better if you had a couple of sab's and they had to pm empty their target for that night to disable their abilities, and when they finally targetted an infil, they would be join them instead.

Next round will be more complex with more special, niche roles.

I've been playing around with some ideas but yeah, this rounds was 10% seeing interest levels, 10% getting people up to speed and 80% writing/GMing practice.

I dont know why you have so much beef with me trickster. I just was rock-solid on Brutos being an infil, thats all there ever was to it. I pretty much never cared about anyone's posts, only hints.
Or am I reading this wrong? I honestly cannot tell if you are using challenged as in others were mentally challenged, or the opposite. Fyi, I am totaly sleep deprived and dumb as a pebble.
As for kills, I suggest two max. One seemed kind of imbalanced, while having 4 kills every night (with rifle included) means that the game is heavy inf biased.
Also, I kind of want to play a more incognito game, maybe with alt accounts, so people do not know who is posting. I really hated how me and metal smith just got buttfucked every first night, and if we didnt, it was a dead giveaway on who should the crew vote.

    Debriefing:

    Day One

Empty stepped out of the bridge and onto the waklway around it, the bitter cold cut into his skin but he endured it, he was a man of solitude

A side note here, this was an accidental clue towards kane, relating to citizen kane, and I apologise to kane for this, I shouldhave watched the movie before writing clues up on him and I probably could have avoided this accident.

His assailant pulled back the rifle and brought the stock back for another swing at Empty's temples.
The rifle was chosen as it's tricksters weapon of choice (This clue can relate to a lot of people obviously but it was mainly to narrow peoples searches down)

Empty ducked under the swing and reached for his sidearm.
The weapon had served him well, an incredibly old design dating from the first well. It had saved him more times than he cared to remember. He brought it to bear upon his opponent, and stared down the sights.
Normally he'd fire without hesitation, old reflexes die hard. But what he saw down the sights shook him more than anything in his 30 years of service.

This line was to clue in that the infiltrator and myself are evenly matched, I'd say trickster and I are roughly around the same skill level so I wanted the fight to seem close.

"I was never on your side Empty, but you've known me this long. How could you not see I'd been pulling the strings the whole time?"

Trickster is well known for playing the long game. Hence this.

3 shots rang out. Empty slumped onto the catwalk, dead. His assailant limped back into the bridge.
This line relates to trickster firing two rounds, and me firing one back. Again indicating we're well matched, I hit him and he hits me, hence the limp.

From here, Brutos won the vote and became the team leader. He did a surprising amount of good, preventing both sides from bandwagoning was an interesting tactic and though it helped trickster more than others it wasn't entirely a loss, I'd say both teams had the same net gain in the end.

    Night One

Who would have the balls to take Empty on? He clearly hadn't been shot in cold blood, he'd had a chance to fight back... Who'd be stupid enough, or ballsy enough to do that?
Another clue towards trickster, he's ballsy and we're evenly matched blah blah.

The jekotian pulled the trigger and the last thing to run through Grantrithor's mind was a 45. calibre hollow point round, which promptly embedded itself in the steel floor of his cabin.
Red herring, made to confuse yall.

Hygrom was AFK this night, so yeah there was only one kill. Predominance checked out blizzerd from memory but didn't gain anything useful. The infils tactics were to abuse brutos from here.

    Day Two

Later that day the engines went dead, highly damaged all over by welding torches, most of it was unsalvageable, given a few days solid work they could be repaired somewhat but Brutos was loathe to leave a man alone in the engine room. The engine rooms were to be left untouched until the traitors were found.
This is a subtle clue towards Ikalx, probably too subtle. I was going to push the welding torch a bit more but the infils didn't end up having enough time left to do it. Ikalx uses a dragon avatar 90% of the time (exception is the emp forum) so I tried to hint at that via the blowtorch, being used to burn his enemies. I think it wasn't a strong enough clue in the end and nobody picked up on it, sadly.

    Night Two

    Trickster addressed his conspirators.
When your name is the first name dropped in a night's story post, it's never a good sign.

"He's fucking invincible!" screamed one infiltrator.
Minor clue towards hygrom, hygrom's avatar is a dreadnaught and they are heavy walkers that are basically invincible to small arms fire.

Hygrom hit trickster, trickster hit hygrom and mcgyver saved hygrom, resulting in a net loss for the infils. A lucky play by mcgyver in all honesty.

    Day Three

The crew interestingly utterly stall the vote, nobody takes the leap of faith.

    Night Three

"I suppose. At the end of this I'm just kind of disappointed that you're a part of it, friend." came the shadowed figures weary reply.

This is a hint that brutos knows an infiltrator, CW ties etc are pretty heavily implied.

"There's nothing for it. You know as well as I do those ties are behind us. You chose your path. I chose mine. I just didn't tell you."
This however is meant to point at Ikalx. Ikalx was the de facto leader of CW for a while and he basically disbanded it (in that it's basically just brutos blizzerd and Ikalx now, I'd say I'm sort of still in but CW basically doesn't exist as a unified entity any more) and we all went our seperate ways.

Brutos was killed as only trickster had ties with him, so losing trickster meant no infil would be able to sway him to their side safely.

    Day Four

Kane sneaks a double kill, I left him out of the writing to slightly imply he was working from the back.

    Night Four

"Hmm that's funny, because I could have sworn you've been watching me all day. Mighty suspicious."
I was hoping predom was in contact with someone and telling them his targets. His teammate would be able to tell that his killer was the guy he was scouting that night. I wasn't sure if such a person existed so I threw this in just in case.

"Oh really?" the figure pulled out a small handheld blowtorch.
"Let's find out what you know..." he continued, as he lit the torch.

    Ikalx clue! Dragons and such!

PreDominance's body was found that morning, tied to the top of the bridge tower. His face was charred beyond recognition and it was clear he hadn't died quickly.
Dragons live up in tall mountains and shit and like towers are in mythology a lot, just a really really really vague clue towards ikalx.

    Day Five

Kane dies honorably to clues that didn't technically exist. Sorry bro.

    Night Five

DDD is slain by rifleman, infils forget to send in targets and pretty much lose the match here.

    Day Six

At this point there were no more clues, Hygrom had already figured out Ikalx was an infil and LordDz was lynched during the dya, I simply let the 24 hours run by for night to give the infils a chance for one last hurrah and they did get the medic in the end.

    Night Six

Hygrom kills ikalx and ikalx gets McGyver. GG all, base crew win.

Most of the people who didnt enjoy it didn't play.

Also predom has a clear reason he got killed without any impact on the game.
