Police statement: They shot him twice, he fired no shots. Completely irrelevant though as they didn't know this when the shit started.
from 6 pages ago but http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/story/2011/08/12/toronto-g20-puddy.html in yo face in yo face
The police do have guns, and they do use them when neccesary, we just rather intelligently don't think that gunning down civilians at the first excuse is a good way to do policing in this country. I realise this may be surprising to someone from america.
We gun them rioters down. Lets them know who's in charge. Sure we get sued for improper this and that but, in the end we still feel better about it, and they might learn to stop rioting one of these days. Im looking at you Raiders fag fans.
Actually nowadays they taser everyone, without an excuse, because they don't need one, that's more conventient and hey only a small part of the tasered ppl die!
Americans aren't even that bad. We don't go apeshit crazy after every international meeting (G20, G8, etc.) or sporting event. It is a mixture of us being too fat, lazy, and knowing that acting like a little bitch in the streets will change anything.
And now david cameron has apparently figured out exactly what caused the riots less than a week after they happened. Apparently he went to delphi on his holidays and asked the oracle what to do. Have to agree with the labour position, proper investigation into why the sudden surge in susceptability to this sort of thing would be better than reactionary 'moral decay' bollocks. Also apparently he blames 'children without fathers' as part of the problem, which frankly is kind of hard not to take as a personal insult.
And nothing happen in D.C. during the 1st G20 event. Also: G-20 Pittsburgh summit According to police accounts, about 4,500 people participated in protests throughout the city, with 190 arrests being made. Approximately $50,000 worth of damage was caused to area businesses, with $20,000 worth being attributed to one individual, David Japenga of California, accused of breaking 20 windows and doors in Oakland on Thursday night. The G20 summit in Pittsburgh last September reportedly cost $18 million for security. G-20 Toronto summit A Royal Bank of Canada branch in Ottawa was firebombed just before dawn on May 18, 2010. While initial estimates of the damage, immediately following the attack, pegged the price-tag at around $300,000.00 and expected the bank to be closed for several weeks, at the time of Clement's trial, reports stated that the branch was closed for months with total costs of $1,600,000. A reported 1118 people were arrested in relation to the protests. A total of six police cruisers were destroyed and millions of dollars worth of damage was caused to downtown businesses during the protests. The total cost for preparations, including security, infrastructure, and hospitality, was determined to be approximately C$858 million. Wow, are all of you Canadians all hyped up due to your grade A, dark amber maple syrup? Can you name a single G20/G8 or major sporting event that you lost (btw, which would be most of them) that didn't lead to fucking up your own towns?
It's a Canada thing, we don't sue mcdonalds for making us fat or getting ourselves burnt with coffee, and we don't protest much things unless if it has to do with uranium refineries, but every once in a while we burn down cars and stores. The amount of retarded law suits in America are still much higher than our retarded "firebombing" incidents.
Except most of those lawsuits don't end up hurting anyone; they usually fail on the first court proceeding. And even if the case is won, it only involves a multi-billion dollar company handing over a few thousand dollars, not destroying a budget-stricken town. And losing a silly hockey match. And cars and stores are ALWAYS burning. Who the hell do you think you are talking to? I know all about the thing. It's a Jersey Thing. What do you guys have? Lol not just your memes are stolen from us.
walmart i can use wikipedia too. the firebombing nothing to do with the summit. this happened on may 18th. the summit was on june 18th to 28th. if you are going to hate canada for one thing, it should be the government for spending nearly a billion dollars on security compared to the united states 18 walmart your so awful stop taking stuff out of context godd
Walmart we don't have your type of trivial problems that gets the whole country made, like Harry Potter books and Mcdonalds, we actually have reasons to "firebomb" things, like civil rights and Government spending, and the fact that we have 4 political parties that have huge differences to each other which makes everything a controversial issue here. p.s. I was making fun of the New Jersey thing, no one in Canada actually says that.
I can't tell if you are trying to frivolously defend Canadians or be ironic purposely. Hey, that passage looks familiar. It seems to be missing two sentences... The attackers posted video on YouTube showing a large fireball igniting inside the bank. The video then listed the manifesto of a previously unknown group calling itself the FFFC. The message stated that the attack against the bank was because of the growing suffering of Vancouver's poor in the shadow of RBC's major sponsorship of the 2010 Vancouver Olympics and Paralympics in Vancouver and Whistler, British Columbia and claimed these events were held "on stolen indigenous land." In addition to social issues and aboriginal land claims, the video claimed the actions were sparked by environmental and deforestation related concerns surrounding the Alberta tar sands projects in "Kanada's" prairies, in which the video claims RBC is substantially involved and which G8/G20 decisions furthered. The attackers also stated their intention to be present during the G8 and G20 summits the following month. Ah right. Not relevant. Nothing to do with the G20 summit. You were TOTALLY RIGHT that I was out of context To be fair, I don't know if they spent that much money because they are wasteful or they know Canadians are full of welfare recipients that have nothing to do during the summit. Sounds a lot like what happen in London... Explained already. Recycling talking points is boring. And hockey games. Man, those are some serious issues you have in Canaland. What's next? Truck bombing of local family shops because they don't recognize marriage between man and beaver?
