i like how the forum litterally died the day dwarf fortress 2010 came out

    The new version is so confusing I didnt even notice that you could bring different gender animals on my starting areas until 3 tries and I kept getting pissed because my four female cats didn't have kittens. >.>

    wtf is this 1000 credit starting limit
    Also if you don't have at least 10 free gigaherz then good luck playing with over 20 dwarves, as it now features about a million body parts in each creature and about 20x more processing needed per frame for no good reason. Prepared horse kidney anyone?

    you can adjust the starting limit on world gen, also the computer requirements are supposed to go down as the bugs go out since there are a few memory leaks in it

    as in, something which occurs often which is totally messed up?

    I am on my first embark and was wondering why my fps was 20-30 despite the fact that i hadn't even started digging. then i noticed the 160 z-levels...... even paused i get 45 fps and that's with the starting 7 dwarfs. I cant wait to see the slide show that a 100 dwarf fort will produce :D.

    I also started on a map with some skeletal elk that i have to avoid like carp cause skeletal creatures are currently invincible and even if they pose no threat combat wise, dwarves will fight them until they starve/die of thirst :eek:

    Im in the middle of my first autumn and a lot of things have changed
    Starting off you can buy copper shit for much cheaper, but your starting limit is 1000 instead of 2000. There's also a bunch of new stuff you can bring along, along with new starting professions

    Embarking I found the default embark area to be like 4x4 or something, smaller than usual, and the lag warning if you go any larger probably because of the insane amount of extra z-levels.
    Hunting's a bitch now, even with a steel crossbow and bolts, because of the ranged nerf. Animals produce a shitload of extra parts, underground farms don't do anything unless they are built on mud, the new material globbing system is interesting, when autumn came it said the dry season is here(that might have been there already), by mid autumn I already had had 2 waves of 3 immigrants each, and there are new types of wood that retain their color.

    All in all I wish he had released this stuff in parts, as I would much rather be playing a version with hospitals, burrows, and new military but without the new body parts and extra cuntload of z-levels.

    Setting partial print to YES in the init.txt SIGNIFICANTLY improves framerate!

    With this new fps I did something....AMAZING

    I took the waters of a river.....when the siege came....I FLOODED THEM THE KOBOLDS WERE IN THE CANYON MWUAHAHAHAAHAH! THEY DROWNED IN WATERS DEEPER THEN THE SEA ITSELF!

    Each plain has its own values and sets per tile, each tile has 5 values to keep in check at all times, and theirs 5000 tiles per plain, and theirs 347 planes now please lets do the math here.......
