Empires will not cease development, in fact compared to the last year or so, development will actually be increasing. I am in the process of sifting through the source code and getting up to speed, this may take me some time... however, I will be focusing on debugging and optimizing existing code followed by new features. Development will march on. Brutos tells me 2.25 is getting close and I will be working with him to help push it out. From there we will all be discussing the next steps, but regardless of what specifics we decide, it will involve working right here on this engine, this game. Long term goals for the upcoming releases include steamworks and a new GUI, although those are each major undertakings so they could be well down the road. Short term goals will be focused more heavially on fixing existing systems but each release should also have new stuff. Releases will eventually be scheduled ahead of time, and although less improvement will be in each release, we will be releasing more often. A steady release schedule with moderate new features/fixes will be one of my major goals. Thanks to all still hanging on
ok i've been here for a little over a year, who the hell is soundspawn, i see developer but have no clue what he's contributed. Well hope 2.25 comes out soon.
=[BSID]= SGT Spawwn is responsible for most (if not all) the scripts on HSM's house of rage including the darkest dawn plugin.
Spawwn is a responsible BSID, which in and of itself is almost a paradox. Congrats, keep up the good work Brutos, Kane, and Spawwn!
Except that he couldn't have known. Good luck soundspawn, I'm confident from the discussions with you that this will be the best thing that has happened to Empiresmod since Krenzo left. edit: and no I haven't been drinking.
not to defend a castle with words here, but why do developers have to "be around" for a while before start of develop function before they get approval? let the man code, he obviously is pretty good at it
Man I remember when you first started playing, under the name f. a. spawwn good times, good times anyway best of luck and nerf the rifleman
This weekend will uncover more information, as there will be a large overlap between Brutos and I to discuss details (currently dealing with a 9 hour timezone difference and me being very slammed at work to boot).
